I agree with you. The reason he won the primary is because a politically ignorant minority of the voters voted for him, and the rest of the party couldn't stop him. Then the party leaders, partisan hacks as they are, united behind him, and people are still supporting him because they're so partisan, and because they're politically ignorant.
