I think, after Warner wins reelection in 2020, he will become a Republican in his final term. His predecessor, also a Warner, was a liberal Republican. I know Mark Warner is closer to Schumer than he is to McConnell, but I mean, if the Democrats go in a more Keith Ellison direction I can see him switch in protest.

Actual liberal Republicans like Jacob Javitts or Fiorello H. La Guardia are much better than most Democrats. What people call liberal Republicans, not so much.
