Please discuss, ideally with maps.

If Trump's approval/disapproval is ~46/48:

271: Mark Dayton/Tammy Baldwin - 46.0%
267: Donald Trump/Mike Pence - 49.2%
Others - 4.8%

There are billionaires who actually care about everyone. Dayton would be an excellent candidate, at least on paper. I'm not sure how he would perform.

Interesting. Him picking a running mate from a neighboring state is not quite what I'd expect, but okay. And how does socially liberal New Hampshire pick Pence over Baldwin? I feel if Trump's running mate was someone like, say Kasich or Ryan, he'd have carried NH this year and be in good position to do so in 2020, but I imagine Pence's favor abilities there are worse.

Dayton's a great guy who has done great things for Minnesota, but by his own admission, he's not particularly charismatic. (It's why he left the Senate for the Governor's office.) I don't think he would do particularly well, unfortunately.

I'd be surprised to see Virginia go Republican while Ohio and Iowa go Democrat.

I like Dayton. He's one of the best governors in the country. He suffers from severe chronic depression though and is generally just kind of mentally loopy.

Love the guy and would vote for him in a heartbeat, but he ran against tea party candidates in both 2010 and 2014, so not sure that he's actually a good campaigner.

I think Dayton would be dwarfed by other progressives in the primary, and I don't see how he could win there. And if he did, it would be tough for him to defeat Trump.

I also doubt he wants to run
