Macron
Hamon (even though he's a clown candidate by now, his policies are not that bad)

(bigger gap)

Fillon

(huge gap)

all others.

Out of the big ones, since I don't know much about the others:

Macron
(big gap)
Hamon
(yuuuuge gap)
Fillon
(universe-sized gap)
Melenchon
Le Pen

Would probably abstain from a Le Pen-Melenchon runoff.

Hamon or Macron, the former if I would feel certain about Macron going to the runoff.

Macron, reluctantly.  Hamon is actually my preferred candidate, but has no chance, and I really don't want Fillon or Le Pen as President.

We agree on a lot.

Also, Hamon is a far superior left-wing candidate than Mélenchon since his policies are actually rational.

Macron is the best option of these and I would vote for him in the first round. Obviously would vote for virtually anyone over Panzergirl, which is what matters really.

I'm in two minds about Melenchon. I don't really care about NATO or whatever (oh no, Europe might not be tied to a country where half the politicians think Armageddon is an interesting tactic) and he has some nice (and some funny) policies, but i cant stand the tedious Jacobin Rah Rah Muh United France philosophy and all the inane anti-german banter. If Macron was a genuine reformist (i.e. promised to actually follow through on a German style country and abolish the disastrous Gaullist Republic in favour of a parliamentary, decentralised nation) i would grudgingly vote for him, but seeing as he is basically Status Quo I'll hold my nose and go for Jean Luc despite my misgivings about his personality.

In a ranked system i would put Hamon, Lassalle and Poutou above him though.

My first choice would be Hamon (he seems great honestly) but since he sadly has no chance, I have to go with Macron, terrible as he is. Melenchon isn't really my kind of leftist.

Fillon, best of a bad bunch if you ask me. In the event of a Le Pen vs Melenchon runoff I'd abstain.

I don't think that the Parti Socialiste deserves to be in this miserable state. So I would have voted for Hamon, mostly out of sympathy with the PS. I think that he has some fresh, interesting ideas (robot tax, unconditional basic income), but his concept doesn't appear to be well-thought-out. I would have actually preferred Manuel Valls as PS candidate. The labour market reforms of the Valls government seemed quite moderate and reasonable to me, not nearly as bad as the German Hartz IV. So I don't understand why this government is hated so much, but maybe I'm too German for that. Wink

I definitely wouldn't like to see Macron elected. The fact that he endorsed that exploiter company Uber is reason enough. I would prefer him over Le Pen or Fillon, though.

I also couldn't vote for Lasalle because I worry too much about his mental health, lol.
