1. A baby is considered a person while they are in the womb, thus protected with all the rights of a human being before birth.
2. Government will pay all costs for women to keep their babies and give them up for adoption instead of terminating their pregnancies.
3. Dramatic increase in funding for maternal care and family planning
4. Comprehensive sex education in the schools and access to birth control
5. New funding for pro-life alternatives and spiritual counseling centers

If these were proposed as part of a compromise bill, to appeal to the broader majority of Americans, would you support it?

There are still unforeseeable situations that simply paying eminent domain isn't a solution.

This is perfection for me, but I know there is never a chance of this happening.

I would consider this as a compromise to a 12-week ban (with the standard exceptions of course) as long as the ban was explicitly tied to all of these things existing. (IE, if Republicans try to pull the plug on any of this, the 12-week ban immediately goes away.)

Sure. The main reason I consider myself pro-choice these days is because most self-professed "pro-lifers" don't mind if the babies they save end up dying on the street. This bill would ensure that "pro-life" really does mean "pro-life."

Unfortunately, Republicans would strongly oppose points 2, 3, and 4 and this bill will therefore never happen.

Would I vote for it? Yes.

Would it have the remotest chance of passing? No.

I can't see any way this passes with any considerable amount of Democratic support. Apart from government funding, half the Republican Party already wants this as their endgame.

Personally, I'm opposed to 3 and 4 but would gladly take the deal.

No, I'd look for safer ways to decrease abortion rates. Rather than making it illegal, I'd try to help pregnant women feel more comfortable about having a baby. Exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother will be made.
