The F-scale /"authoritarian personality" constructs are bizarre transparently ideologically biased measures that have had an awful impact on the field of social psychology, and ultimately have contributed to political polarization. 

On the other hand I am interested in reading Dialectic of Enlightenment at some point; sounds like it is a very different approach that locates fascism as a deeply historical development rather than a personality type.
