Done. But if there's anymore dehumanising remarks like
I'm sure they did lots of prostituting back in the home country before they graduated to Britain.
it gets locked again.

How is that dehumanizing?  It was merely a statement of probability.  I didn't consider it pejorative at all.  Why do you?

It is not an unreasonable statement, and, if crudely put, not at all comparable to seriously dehumanizing statements like, "there is evidence of people being re-trafficked." The fact that this statement is based on is, it is quite normal for deported prostitutes to come back - often taking better care to avoid hellholes like the place described in the article. (Their previous experience would help in that.)
There's a lot more dehumanizing language in that article, although I suppose some of that is simply due to traditional UK police reporting style...example:
"Nineteen women (...) have been removed from a massage parlour in Birmingham."

Yes it is. It's a deeply unfair and vile statement that neatly reflects society's attitude towards prostitutes (ie; that they are semen sinks not people. That attitude is just as common with people in favour of legalising it than people opposed to legalising it. Either way it's wrong).
The problem is not the words but the usage of the words; It's just a few words away from "well they knew what they were getting into".

Obviously whenever something bad happens to a black man from a ghetto it's fine to say that "well he was probably a druggie", right?

No, I meant - "it is probably true". Of course he can't be "sure", and yeah I see what you mean - it had an air of "no cause for concern".
But I'd still say that what you posted (via link) is worse - it's part of the ongoing demonization of illegal immigrants by the media.

No, you are quite wrong Al, and are seeing your own prejudices in others.  I for one think prostitutes are great people, and do not view their profession any more negatively than any other form of toil.

The point was that prostitution isn't 'bad'.  I think it is a very reasonable job choice.

Ah well now you're talking about poverty.  Certainly one could define a woman's choice to sell sex as more fully 'voluntary' if there were a generous welfare state.  As it is she may have few choices - sell sex or starve - but this really isn't any different from other poors choices to, say, work at Walmart or starve, etc.

Yes, some of the language used in the piece is not nice. BBC news reports can be incredibly cold at times... they've got into trouble for it quite a few times actually (mostly recently with the careful changing (sorry "neutralising") of some words in pieces about the 7/7 attacks) so it's not as though they have much of an excuse.
Probably goes for the media as a whole. Damn the media.

Which is also disgusting. Especially when you consider that if there's one group of people that use illegal immigrants for all sorts of nefarious purposes, it's journalists Roll Eyes
It's like when the Daily Hate Mail rants about moral decline; if there's one newspaper in the U.K that could be held responsible for that it's the Hate Mail; in an average copy they have far more pictures of women not-exactly-wearing-a-lot than the Stun Roll Eyes
And among "quality" papers, which one likes to stick a big photo of some young woman on the front cover as often as it can? The Daily Torygraph who love to rant on and on about moral decline...
Even worse than that is the Dirty Des Express's coverage of Gypsies.
Now that sort of **** isn't normally considered printable Angry
