Why does this always happen! I've slumped to 901. This has happened about 3 times in the past year and unless I post random nonsense for a whole day i'll never reach 1000. ( I lost about 100 that time the whole system went down). I've been here for nearly 2 years dammit!

Sorry, just wanted to vent some steam. i think that when old threads get deleted your record of posts goes down too. It's just bloody annoying Smiley

Delate such a momentous post? Ah well. My fault for engaging in long winded political debate. Time for me to just bump threads and type in nonsence to get my posts up...when in Rome Wink

I was just about to suggest that....Tongue

One thing I never understood is why people care about post count.  I don't even know what mine is.

People tend to miss you out when they make polls if your count is below 1000, especially the big ones. So someone whos been here for say 3 months and has written a lot of rubbish posts leapfrogs someone who has been here a while and writes with a purpose (i'm not really meaning myself here, there are many others too) So, silly I know, but you kinda feel a bit...forgotten.

I've opened up a wound there Sad Time for some chocolate I think.

I don't get included in most polls and lists, and I have >1000 posts.  I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. Tongue

People care about post count because it is perceived as a barometer of forum societal status.

No it's not, as long as you've been around for a while and posted a couple hundred times.  There are only a handful of people such as yourself who care.

Post counts are meaningless really. I like sparring with ole AFleitch.
