I believe that kerrys vp has to be someone who can win his own state. the likely people that could fulfil that task and win a state which lies in the battleground is tom vilsack of Iowa, Bill Nelson of Florida (though the governor would replace him with a republican) and dick (missouri). i think one of those three could do a good job as they arent bomb throwers unlike myself.
Oh i have a 2:1 (68.45) in History. In England, universities make our exams hard. Basically has no use whats so ever in life. but for anyones interest. the greatest military victory of all time against all odds was The Battle of Agincourt. Henry V trying to get to Calais was blocked by the 60,000 fresh french army against the dysentry ridden 7,000 englishmen. we lost less than 1000 men, the french around 40,000 and 3/4 of its nobality. thats a crushing victory Oliver North (republican Kerry basher from the Fox News Channel). Greatest leader of men  has been Admiral Horation Nelson who lost an arm, an eye and a leg and still fought for his country. As a tactician he was perfect, the victory at Trafalgar meant that Napolean couldnt mount a serious campaign against englands independence. Thankfully american historians agree that if the america rebellion had began a generation later, america would never have won its independence. could you imagine how Horatio Nelson and Duke of Wellington would have responded to the rebels. it would have been squashed in a minute. so thank your lucky stars america. england has produced the greatest people of all time. can you beat this list?

1. Winston Churchill (greatest politician who kept up the moral of the british people during the battle of Britain in 1940, recieved a state funeral)
2. Isaac Newton (the greatest scientist ever; ushered in the modern world through his discovery of gravity, made newtons law of motion, works on colour, a lonely man but a genuis)
3. William Shakespere (in my opinion has created misery in the classroom, but to many you see his work everywhere today, from movies to theatres, and no Britney- Shakespere wasnt born in london.
4. Isamabad Kingdom Brunel (the greatest engineer of all time surely. he built Britain in the 1800s with his rail developments, his bridge constructions, even his boat projects. he made a britain a smaller place then the world)
5. Sir Charles Darwin (you cannot believe in god and charles darwins work, charles darwin gave the world prospective of how we evolved into what we are today. he showed to us why animals become extinct, how animals survive, how natural selection made our world, his work is the greatest in biological science)
6. Lord Admiral Horation Nelson (go to London and you will see how important he was. he is everywhere, from pictures on billboards, bus stops, his boats are still kept. then go to Trafalgar Square. he saved england and was the first person in british history to receive a state funeral who wasnt from the nobility. records show that around 2 million people visited him at Westminster abbey when nelson laid in state.
7. Oliver Cromwell (for all you pro-republicans this man brought down the royal family and from 1649-1660 Britain was a republic. He represented the Parlimentarians who won the civil war which meant death for Charles 1 (1625-1649). However what became apparent was that Cromwell treated power like people still do today. Power is a method to oppress people, everyone who has it does it, some do it more violently than others)
8. Sir Ernest Shackleton (talk about survival, this man went to the south pole where is ship was trapped in ice. the only option was to travel 1600km on foot to save themselves. he saved all his men and is regarded as the most extradionary piece of survival ever.
9. Henry V (against all odds he won agincourt, the longbow became one of the significant military weapons ever made. he took the french throne, killed thousand s of the french, i always wondered if he hadnt had died of dysentry in 1422, how would he have dealt with joan of Arc in 1428 at Orelans.
10.Elizabeth 1(1558-1603)- Stood up to the whole of Europe against catholicism, the only person to have had a pope sign a death warrant for her life. she stuck two fingers up at religion, and allowed choice. she saved england from its independence from the spanish armada. a true english leader.

No to Princess diana, John lennon or any other Beatle, no to Margaret Thatcher - just look at any english city and she took our milk away, no to Victoria coz i dont believe in Imperalism unlike people going to re-elect president bush. YES america is an imperalistic state. but can amercia compete with this greatness? who can compete? einstein? germany claim him. i will be interested in your picks.

Bill Nelson's in my top five... 10 year in the house from a conservative district and now senator... good moderate record and lots of exposure as a result of the inquiring into these acts by US troops in Iraq... but both Edwards and Warner are better choices imho and Geppy just isn't I also don't agree that you need someone who can just bring in one state... But I’ll get back to this later after work.

I liked him, but he said something about pre-sodomy acts last week that made him look like a fool.

I listened to Nelson the other day and he wasn't that borring. He can force Bush to pump money into Florida and has the "hero" factor, being a former astronaut.

Good list of English heroes. I agree, Winston Chchill may have been the greatest leader of all time. Einstein would not be happy with being stuck with German citizenship, which he revoked, he would prefer to be remembered as Swiss, American, Jewish, or from his point of view, best of all, without borders. Our greatest leaders have been:

George Washington (political)
Ben Franklin (intellectual)
Thomas Jefferson (philosphical)
Abraham Lincoln (moral)
George S. Patton (military)

Militarily I’d say that Grant, Winfield Scott or Lee beat Patton… of those I’d say that Scott was the best, just look at the march on Mexico City….
