Three FBI agents came to Abdeljawad's house and said that they had been given "screenshots" of her posts by Facebook. Her lawyer Hassan Shibly posted a video of the incident online on Wednesday.

Abdeljawad told agents that she didn't want to talk and asked them to show their badges on camera, which the agents refused to do. She wrote on Facebook that she later confirmed with local police that the FBI agents really were FBI agents.

"Facebook gave us a couple of screenshots of your account," one agent in a gray shirt said in the video.

"So we no longer live in a free country and we can't say what we want?" replied Abdeljawad.

"No, we totally do. That's why we're not here to arrest you or anything," a second agent in a red shirt added. "We do this every day, all day long. It's just an effort to keep everybody safe and make sure nobody has any ill will."
not cool bro.  "it's a free country ma'am, we're just the nation's official cops here wondering why you don't like our buddy Israel.  This is a totally normal thing that happens to people in a free country."  assholes

You have to put it in perspective.

Facebook receives ~150,000 requests for info from law enforcement per annum on whackjobs like this girl.

This woman appears to have posted anti-semitic hate speech and that must have triggered a filter in the backend of Facebook.

To avoid political hate speech  Meta have just placed a filter in Instagram about politics. Basically, they don't want any politics on Instagram.

That is great, because politics tends to muddy young people's brains when you get a concentration of fervent nutbags in a confined area, say......the USGD.

Our tax dollars hard at work. They should be out arresting fentanyl dealers and human traffickers.

Why the hell do we have highly paid federal employees doing home visits on behalf of Meta's content moderation team?

it's not illegal to post anti-semitic hate speech online (in this country at least) and it shouldn't be, the FBI should have nothing to do with anything said on FB unless it's someone discussing specific plans of violence

Feds putting Israeli interests ahead of American interests. Nothing new.

So somehow despite endless mass surveillance from several federal agencies the black market for human trafficking still exists, but this is what they focus on?

I agree with most points raised in this thread.

But clearly, at some stage, this woman has expressed a desire to harm Jewish people.

You can only imagine what she wrote to trigger the FBI filter.

Given that most nutbags write their intentions on social media, a visit to make sure there are no AR-15's in the house maybe seen as prudent.

I do agree however the US has bigger problems to solve, fentanyl, human trafficking, 3.5M people a year coming across the border illegally.

Per the article, you are 2 + 2 = 5 level factually incorrect.

"For the past week, she has made multiple angry posts per day about the war in Gaza, referring to Israel as "Israhell." But none of the posts on her feed call for violence."

Kindly do better.

She posted that she wanted "nazizionist scalps" and that US troops should come home packed in wooded boxes. Not outright threats, but those are definitely worth a visit from the authorities because she seems to be radicalized enough to become a terrorist. If she did end up doing something everyone would be screaming "why didn't they do something?!" when her insane ramblings became public.

If that is what she said, then a visit could be warranted.
What I do not like, is that the agents refused to identify themselves, when asked. In an era where people dress-up, act and claim to be what they are really not (and all law enforcement agencies know this), it is customary for law enforcement to show and identify themselves (badge) of their official capacity. Most especially if you are an FBI agent, since they wear "uncommon" clothing attire and are rarely seen/known by the public.

Yeah I thought it was the policy if they're not undercover or something to show their badge right away. Maybe because she wanted to film it? That part of it is a puzzle if true.

This is the same FBI that determined that Zacarias Moussaoui wanted to fly a plane into the WTC and then did nothing about it.

Unless there was a threat of violence, this should be illegal under the first amendment.

She wasn't arrested and from what I can tell they didn't tell her to stop so there was no First Amendment violation.

That's probably what got her the visit from the authorities. With that said she's bragging on Facebook about all the attention she has received in the media so she doesn't seem that shaken by it.

she is a garbage human being, of course she's going to use this an example of whatever she's trying to prove.  She'll have a great story to tell other racists for the rest of her life.  We are certainly no safer today from Islamic terrorism because the FBI hassled this bigot, but the bigots sure have more evidence to share with each other about how horrible the US is and how much they support the "Zionist entity".

We shouldn't give bad people free propaganda, but mostly we shouldn't hassle people with the cops for saying mean stuff.  Having free speech means bad people gets to say stuff we don't like.  If it doesn't mean that, it's not free speech.

Again it's not about hassling people for saying "mean things" it's about making sure they aren't planning to commit violent acts. Hurt feelings are a lot better than a synagogue being attacked.

If she thought posting that video was going to help her, and hurt the agents that were present, then she is wrong (and stupid).

It seems they already had shown her, their credentials (badges) before she started to record, and only wanted them to do it again, for "drama effect" in her recording. If she did not feel comfortable that they were "true authorities" she would not have voluntarily removed herself from the safety of her home (interior) and walked outside to the front yard with them.
I take back any questions or doubt I had about them not showing their badges.

She seems loony, if you ask me.

People who post like violent terrorists online should probably be investigated. It’s not like she was just posting “Free Palestine” or something.
