Have a good time. Nice city. Whatever you do, don't go to Ybor City unless you want to get shot. Historic district, my ass.

Ybor City itself is a fun place to go drinking but yeah, don't walk there. Your ass will be shot!

Of course I went there during spring break.

JMF, ignore Sensei and Mikey. They are pretty much talking out of their arse.

I live 15 minutes from Tampa. Let me know when you arrive.

States, it would be great to have a drink with you.  Looks like I will be flying from London into Tampa on August 11th.  I am buying a fairly large telescope from someone who lives an hour South of Tampa.  I will be renting a U-Haul truck to transport the scope back to the Houston area.  I'll let you know my schedule as I get more info.

States, my itinerary is confirmed.  I will be flying from London to Tampa on British Airways flight BA2167, arriving at 4:45 pm.  I have someone from Budget Truck Rental willing to stay open late for me so that I can rent a small moving truck.  Then I have to drive down to Osprey to pick-up the telescope I'm buying.  So I won't be back into Tampa until around 10pm that night.  Let me know if that works for you, if so then I'll send you a message so that we can trade contact info.

States - I wasn't bashing Ybor City itself - just the area around it.

With that being said, you should go out drinking there but prepare to take a cab to get in and out of there.

They said that last year and they are wrong, so far they are wrong as well although the season when the most hurricanes happen is coming up.
