They went out of their way to avoid using the word Republican in this article on Sen. Craig, even leaving the space under his picture that normally has party affiliation blank. At least they didn't call him a Democrat.

I voted for legitimate news organization.  It's sensationalistic, inaccurate, plays the same stories (usually about misbehaving celebrities) over and over while ignoring important national/international news, mixes opinion with fact, gives bad investment advice, and blurs the line between entertainment and information.  In those regards, it's the basically the same as all the other 24-hour news channels, so it's a typical, modern US television news organization.  Since you didn't list "typical" as a choice, I voted for the first option.  The only thing atypical about it is that the mean age of its views is somewhere under 60, but otherwise Fox typifies very well our society's unfortunate current mold of a "legitimate news organization."

I completely agree. American media is especially terrible and has become worse since the advent of the 24 hour news network. That's the main reason why I get most of my news from either the Brits or the Germans.

Fox news is a right wing propaganda front but why can't the left come up with one of their onw? The first amendment allows it...

Right-wing propaganda outfit.  Good for the unintentional humor occasionally, but I prefer John Stewart, who unlike our friends at Fux News, actually reports the news.

Legitimate News organization.  They actually report some of what really happens that the liberals won't.

Propaganda outfit, although in fairness they are simply giving their audience (conservatives) what they want to hear.

I should think that is fairly obvious - money.

As for FOX, it is just right wing propaganda, like so many 'news' institutions before it.  Such a role is normal for a private media organization in any country, and certainly all are at least moderately right wing in the US.  FOX just takes it to a cartoonish level of obviousness very a very ignorant, emotional, and irrational viewership.

They are the pinnacle of American propaganda.  They can't go two minutes without saying something about the die-hard liberals, they constantly insult Democratic politicians but leave Republicans alone usually, and lather praise on GWB like baby oil on a baby's butt.  What could be more of propoganda than that.  And Republicans always talk about the liberal media...

And when they do attack Republicans, they display the person as being a Democrat. Tongue

They tell you what they want you to think then demand you to think that way or you are an extremist. There is not news channel at all in America that isn't bias toward on side of the political spectrum.

Fox news is hackish but no more so than the rest of the media. If you want to actually get the news check out multiple sources.

No less legitimate than any other media outlet.

That really says a lot for it.
