NDN why abandon Obama as he is surging? He actually has a shot at becoming President, Ron Paul does not.
Besides that I agree with him more and more every day?
Let me put it this way: I'm sure that Obama will get the nomination. And I'm sure he'll be better than whoever the GOP runs in 2008. However, if he makes a strong showing Ron Paul's candidacy could easily put political pressure on both parties to pursue policies closer to his agenda. Especially if he decides to go 3rd Party. That could keep Obama and/or Congress from doing things like re-authorizing the Patriot Act, staying in (or expanding) involvement in Iraq, ignoring the deficit, etc. From both an ideological and pragmatic perspective, this seems to make more sense than going with the lesser of all the evils running right now.
I'm not sure why you think Obama is a lock for the nomination. I think he will eventually win but it is going to be a real dogfight.
