Hence why I said 'sort of.'  I don't agree with the man on everything, but at least he's probably one of the less politically opinionated preachers these days and doesn't shout about those issues on rooftops like so many of them unfortunately do.

Probably Mormans, but only in the sense that in general I suspect I would have an easier time relating to them. I really don't personally know any charismatics to be frank. None at all. Isn't that weird?

I should add that I really don't care what a person's religion is, as long as there is not an agenda to harass and demean, and truncate one's rights and space and life style (assuming that it is not malum in se) while on this mortal coil. So voting for the LDS is not meant as a dump on charismatics.

Both are not that "great" when it comes to gay issues obviously in general. The LDS seems to have cooled down on the subject however, after the rather strong backlash against it that occurred over its full court press to get prop 8 passed in CA (pushing as its major talking point the flat out lie that without Prop 8, churches would have to host gay weddings). I actually read that the LDS elders were wondering if it were wise for the LDS as an organization to get so involved in the future. Mormons are nothing if not adaptable. That is one of their great strengths actually. They know when to tack.

Socially progressive charismatics (like myself) do exist. Even gay-affirming Pentecostals. Check these out:

Not a fan honestly. I have been tempted to go to a charismatic mass once or twice just to experience it, but thought better of it. It's just too far out there for me.

Also, I should say that I quite nearly dated a charismatic pentacostal for about a year (she purposefully led me on because she thought it was amusing, plus she probably had some personality issues stemming from a broken childhood). Looking back on, I am really, really thankful that I never actually dated her. That probably poisoned me against charismatics a bit too.
