Ok, Al Gore, like many had expected, runs for president. He wins the nomination rather easily, do to Hillary Clinton deciding not to run. He chooses New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as his running mate.

The Republican Nomination and choice of Palin stays the same.

Gore wins in a rout just like Obama did.  This was not the Republicans year.

But I don't think Gore would have picked Richardson. He had too many skeletons, as we saw with his abortive Commerce nomination.

Strangely enough I have a feeling that Obama could have been his choice, regardless of him running or not.

Gore loses again, and again loses Florida and his home state of Tennessee, though by wider margins now.

Gore is considered as a serious and experienced candidate and campaigns more as a liberal than he did in 2000. He wins easily :

Gore : 52%, 349 E.V.
McCain : 46%, 189 E.V.
