Nowhere as bad as what has come after him, but DOMA is an unforgivable act. So is being in the pocket of the Religious Right.

Only a shade better than Dumb and Dumber, Oklahoma's current Senators.

Reasons?

1.    Early association with the Christo-fascists
2.    Knee-jerk opposition to taxes (used the "taxation is theft" line more than once)
3.    This, from wiki --

Senator Nickles was one of many Republican senators who in 1981 called into the White House to express his discontent over the nomination of Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court; Nickles said he and "other profamily Republican senators would not support" O'Connor because of her presumed unwillingness to overturn Roe v. Wade.[9]

I was no fan of O'Connor, from a left wing perspective.  But these bastards piss and moan about liberals having litmus tests and refuse to admit they have their own.  Total hypocrite and we are well-rid of him
