Here's my own expansionist US timeline, and a map will be up soon.

1812: The United States declares war on Great Britain. An American army of 20,000 invade Canada. More forces and supplies are readily available to be used. The advance is swift and fast, since more British units are sent to Europe than OTL.
The Territory of Orleans becomes a state.

1813: The Quebecois rise up against their British masters, creating more havoc for the British. The British North American army is all but destroyed at the Battle of Lake Erie.
The Territory of Pensacola is created.

1814: The Second Anglo-American War ends as the treaty of Paris is signed. The Maritimes (Nova Scotia, Prince Edwards Island, and New Brunswick), southern Quebec, southern Ontario, and all of North America west of Manitoba are annexed by the Americans.

1815: Mexico declares her independence from Spain. The Concert of Vienna happens as OTL.

1816: Indiana (free) joins the Union. James Monroe is elected president.

1817: Construction on the Erie Canal begins. Pensacola (slave) and Mississippi (slave) are admitted to the Union.
The Cumberland Party is formed in Tennessee and Kentucky, wanting a State of Cumberland.

1818: Illinois (free) joins the Union. The Territories of Ottawa, Montreal, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edwards Island are formed after five years of military occupation ends.

1819: Rebellion sweeps Florida and Cuba. The people there vote to join the United States. Spain reluctantly agrees to sell them both, but Spain will keep a base in Guamtanamo Bay.

1820: The Missouri Compromise is signed, saying that an equal number of slave and free states must be kept. Washington (free) and Missouri (slave) join the Union.
James Monroe wins re-election.
In Kentucky and Tennessee, the Cumberland Party gains momentum, election Senators from both states.

1821: The Territories of Florida and Cuba are formed. James Monroe issues his Monroe Doctrine.

1822: The United States recognizes Mexico and Gran Columbia.
People in west Tennessee demand that the State of Franklin be formed. The US Congress debates this idea, and forms the Territory of Franklin.

1823: New Brunswick (free) and Franklin (slave) join the Union.

1824: Marquise de Lafayette comes to America for a year long tour.
John Quincy Adams is elected president.
In a special vote of Congress, they vote to form the Territory of Cumberland, upsetting Tennessee and Kentucky.

1825: The Territory of Jefferson (the Michigan peninsula) is formed.

1826: The Erie Canal is finished, linking New York to the Great Lakes.

1827: Jefferson (free) and Alabama (slave) join the Union. The United States army puts down an uprising in Toronto.

1828: Andrew Jackson is elected president over John Quincy Adams. The Albany-New York City Railroad is opened for use.
Montreal (free) and Cumberland (slave) join the Union.

1829: Greece declares her independence from the Ottoman Empire. Mexico abolishes slavery.
Louisiana (slave) and Nova Scotia (free) join the Union.

1830: The Church of Latter Day Saints is formed.
The French king is overthrown.

1831: Andrew Jackson dumps his vice president John Calhoun. Jackson chooses Martin van Buren as his new vice president.

1832: Michigan (free) joins the Union.
Andrew Jackson wins re-election.

1833: The United States, Argentina, and Great Britain all claim the Malvinas, or Falkland, Islands.
The Falkland War breaks out as three American frigates and one ship of the line, supported by five Argentine frigates and one ship of the line, engage a British fleet of four frigates and 3 ships of the line. The Argentine-American fleet defeats the British.

1834: Argentina annexes the Falkland Islands; the Americans though, can use Port Stanley port facilities.

1836: The Republic of Texas is declared by Sam Houston. President Jackson promises aid, but none will arrive until 1937.
William Henry Harrison (Whig) defeats Martin van Buren (Democrat) in the presidential campaign.

1837: Seminole leader Osceola is arrested by General Zachary Taylor in the Florida Everglades.

1838: Senator John Calhoun introduces a bill that would make Washington D.C. and parts of northern Virginia a slave state. Also, the Territory of Prince Edwards Island reluctantly changes its name to be admitted to the Union.

1839: The states of Arlington (slave) and Madison (free) join the Union. William Henry Harrison wins re-nomination by the Whigs, and picks Senator Henry Clay as his new vice-president.

1840: The Harrison/Clay Whig ticket defeats Democrat Richard Johnson.

1841: Arkansas (slave) joins the Union.

1842: The US Army adapts the Defuse breech-loading needle gun as the standard sidearm of the United States Army.

1843: Winnebago (free) joins the Union, completing the Arkansas Compromise.

1844: Santo Domingo gains her independence from Haiti. The government soon collapses, and the people vote to join the United States. The Territory of Santo Domingo is formed.
Henry Clay (Whig) is defeated by James K. Polk (Democrat) for the presidency.

1845: The Haitian-American War ends after Haiti declares war on the United States for annexing Santo Domingo. Haiti is completely annexed as the Territory of Hispaniola.
Texas is annexed by the United States. Texas (slave) and Iowa (free) are admitted to the Union.

1846: The Mexican War begins after Mexico declares war on the United States, and puts America in a better position in the eyes of the international community.
The war goes well for the Americans, with the Mexicans having major defeat at every battle.

1847: General Winfield Scott lands at Vera Cruz. He reaches Mexico City by the end of the year.

1848: Florida (slave) and Wisconsin (free) are admitted to the Union.
The Treaty of Mexico City ends the Mexican War. The United States annexes all of Mexico north of the Rio Grande, along with Baja, Chihuahua, and Sonora.
James K. Polk’s vice-president, George Dallas, defeating General Zachary Taylor.

1849: The Compromise of 1849 upholds the free/slave states balance. California (free) and Cuba (slave) are admitted to the Union. The slave states say that the free states have one more state than they do (Montreal). Santo Domingo (slave) joins the Union.

1850: Madison requests a name change to St. Lawrence. The United States Congress allows this.
Guatemala is annexed by the United States after US Marines occupy the country after the government collapsed.

1852: Franklin Pierce (Democrat) is elected president, defeating George Dallas (Whig).

1853: The Gadsden Purchase is made by the United States. Parts of Coahuila and Nuevo Leon are sold to the United States.

1854: The Crimean War in Europe begins. The Know-Nothing Party and southern Democrats form the American Party.
The anti-slavery Republican Party is formed.

1855: The Kansas Civil War begins after the majority anti-slavery population in Kansas rise up against the pro-slavery government in Kansas. This ‘war’ lasts for 7 months, until a new vote is called. The pro-slavery government is replaced by an anti-slavery government.

1856: Franklin Pierce (Democrat) beats John Fremont (Republican) and Andrew Donelson (American) for the Presidential race.
William Walker over throws the government in Honduras. He requests that the United States annex Honduras as a commonwealth, or semi-autonomous region.

1857: Minnesota (free) and Harrison (slave) are admitted to the Union. Harrison is part of Chihuahua and Coahuila.
The Crimean War comes to an end in Europe.

1858: Kansas-who is staunchly anti-slavery-comes days from declaring her independence from the US after President Pierce asks Congress to admit it as a slave state. Pierce backs down.
The Douglas-Lincoln debate launched Abraham Lincoln into the national political spotlight.

1859: Oregon (free) and Hispaniola (slave) are admitted to the Union.

1860: John Breckenridge (American) and Abraham Lincoln (Republican) lose Stephen A. Douglas (Democrat).
Kansas (free) and Hamilton (slave) join the Union.

Part II-Civil War and Expansion

1861: With fears of a Civil War, President Douglas blocks a bill banning slavery. His supports support this, and the bill is vetoed.
The Empire of Sicily, made of southern Italy, is formed.

1862: The Homestead Act is passed through Congress. Immediately, thousands of homesteaders travel to the central plains of America.

1863: Nebraska begins pushing for statehood.

1864: Stephen A. Douglas (Democrat) is defeated by Republican William Seward (Republican).
The States of Nebraska (free) and Sonora (slave) are admitted to the Union.

1865: President Seward announces that a new Emancipation Proclamation will go through Congress, and the southern states rebel against this.
The Confederacy of American States (CAS) is formed in Montgomery, Alabama.
Norfolk, Virginia is capture by Confederate forces, sparking the Civil War.

1866: The USS Monitor and CSS Virginia fight in Hampton Rhodes, the first ironclad-against-ironclad battle in the world. At Shiloh, the Americans hold back a Dixie assault into Kentucky. Confederate forces are devastated at Antitiem, after General Robert E. Lee fails to receive important information about Union trop movements.
The Emancipation Proclamation fails to pass the Senate.

1867: The Confederacy of American States is cut in two when the Mississippi completely falls to Union forces. Sequoyah (west Texas), Santiago (east Cuba), and Appalachia (west Virginia) all cede from their respected states.
Richmond is taking after the Confederate soldiers are routed at Gettysburg and Fredericksburg. Sonora and Harrison are taken by Union soldiers from Confederate soldiers.

1868: William Seward decides not to run for president. His vice-president, Abraham Lincoln, is elected over General George McClellan.
William T. Sherman captures Brunswick, splitting the South into several pieces. Despite this, the South holds on until April 1869.

1869: At Ashville, the Civil War ends as Robert E. Lee surrenders his armies in Alabama.
The 13th Amendment is passed, banning slavery. Secretary of State Elihu B. Washburne begins meeting with the Russian Czar over the selling of Alaska to the United States.
The Suez Canal opens in Egypt.

1870: Nevada and Colorado are admitted to the Union.
The Transcontinental Railroad opens in Salt Lake City, Dessert.

1871: Panama rebels against Gran Columbia, and requests annexation by the United States. President Lincoln is weary of this, but agrees. The United States now has Guatemala and Panama in Central America under its control.

1872: Colorado and Panama are admitted to the Union.
Horace Greeley (Democrat) defeats Abraham Lincoln (Republican).

1873: The first state made out of western Canada is admitted to the Union. The state of Seward is admitted to the Union, in honor of former President William Steward (who died the year before).
Costa Rica is annexed by the United States. Guatemala becomes a state, being admitted jest weeks after Seward.

1874: Horace Greeley dies of cholera, and is replace by his vice-president Thomas Hendricks.

1875: The First Japanese-American War begins as Japan invades Formosa, and takes it from China. The United States declares war on Japan saying that Japan has no right for invading Formosa.

1876: The Treaty of San Francisco ends the First Japanese-American War, after Japan is pushed off Formosa.
Colorado and Azucar (parts of Nuevo Leon) are admitted to the Union.
Schuyler Colfax (Republican) defeats Thomas Hendricks, whose Administration has been plagued with problems.

1877: The states of Saskatchewan and Guaymas are admitted to the Union.
President Colfax attempts to buy the Bahamas, Jamaica, Bermuda, and Barbados from England, but is turned down.

1878: Hamilton (rest of Nuevo Leon and Coahuila) is admitted to the Union.

1879: Eritrea is claimed by the United States. The Territory of Eritrea is created.

1880: James Garfield defeats incumbent Schuyler Colfax for the Republican presidential nomination. James Garfield goes onto defeat Democrat Benjamin Chambers.
The final Mexican state, Hancock (the Baja peninsula) is admitted to the Union.

1881: President Garfield is assassinated by a mentally unbalanced man. He is replaced by his vice-president, George A. Custer, who was made famous in the Indian Wars.

1882: The United States claims Tanganyika, causing an increase in the Scramble for Africa.

1883: American Hiram Maxim invents the first automatic machine gun, firing a symbolic 666 rounds a minute. The US Army begins slowly adopting this weapon in Africa.

1884: George A. Custer (Republican) defeats Grover Cleveland (Democrat) for president.
The Berlin Conference on dividing Africa breaks down.

Part III-The Scramble for Africa

1885: The state of Vancouver (southern British Columbia) and Columbia (rest of British Columbia) are admitted to the Union.

1886: The United States annexes Siam and Britain annexes Burma.  Geronimo is captured by American forces in southern Hamilton, ending the American Indian War.

1887: The US Army and Navy are expanded at a phenomenal rate in Custer’s last year as president.
Honduras and Costa Rica become states within the United States.

1888: Allen Thurman (Democrat) defeats Benjamin Harrison (Republican) for President, becoming just the second Democrat since 1864 to be elected.

1889: Queen Victoria I dies unexpectedly, and is replaced by her son, Edward VII.
Dakota (South Dakota), Adams (North Dakota), Montana, Yellowstone (western Montana and northwestern Wyoming), and Cascadia (Washington) are all admitted to the Union.
The Progressive Party is formed in Omaha, Nebraska.

1890: Wyoming is admitted to the Union.  In the mid-term elections, the Progressive elect several senators, representatives, and governors.  The Socialist Party also elects some senators and representatives.
Liberty, a gift from France, is dedicated in New York Harbor.

1891: The state of Calgary is admitted to the Union.

1892: Allen Thurman (Democrat) barely squeaks pass James Weaver (Progressive) and Whitelaw Reid (Republican).
Because of this loss, the moderate portions of the Republican Party leaves it, leaving only a few moderates and mostly conservatives.  The Republican Party becomes the Conservative Party.

1893: As a show of admiration, Theodore Roosevelt is appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

1894: In mid-term elections, the Progressives and Socialists begin picking up steam and power that began in 1890.
Several members of the Progressive, Socialist, and Democratic Parties split to form the Progressive Party, which will small until Teddy Roosevelt picks it up later on.

1895: Cameroons is annexed by the United States.
Desert (Utah) is admitted to the Union.

1896: William McKinley (Conservative) barely defeats William J. Bryans (Democrat), John Palmer (Progressive), and Simon Wing (Socialist) for President.
The first modern Olympics are held.

1897: The Sandwich Islands are annexed by the United States.

1898: The Spanish-American War begins as the American cruiser Washington exploded in harbor.  The war ends disastrously for the Spanish, and see the end of their colonial empire as all their colonies are annexed by the United States.
A Socialist/Progressive Coalition in both houses of Congress have a majority.

1899: The Washington Conference begins, to discuss colonial Africa.  All Spanish lands (Rio del Oro, northern Morocco, and Rio Muni), along with Tanganyika, Liberia, Cameroons, Eritrea, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast all go to the Americans.

1900: William McKinley (Conservative) runs against war hero Theodore Roosevelt (Progressive), and William J. Bryans (Democrat) and Eugene Debs (Socialist).  TR wins in a landslide.

1901: The Canary Islands are bough from Spain, and organized into a territory.
The Boxer Rebellion in China is put down violently by Western powers.

1902: TR calls the Second Washington Conference to punish China, and China is portioned among the powers of France, England, the United States, Russia, Germany, and Japan.  Formosa is annexed by the US.
Work on the Panama Canal begins.

1903: Six new territories are created from American China.  
The Wright Brothers fly their first aeroplane.

1904: Theodore Roosevelt (Progressive) defeated Eugene Debs (Socialist), Alton Parker (Democrat), and Charles Fairbanks (Conservative).
The Russo-Japanese War begins, and is a disaster for Russia.
King Edward VII dies in London, and is replaced by his daughter, Louise Victoria.  She is crowned Queen Victoria II.

1905: Norway gains her independence from Sweden.
Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Mexico sign the Triple Alliance.  In response, England, France, Italy, and Russia sign the Quadruple Entente.

1906: Oklahoma (western Oklahoma) and Monroe (eastern Oklahoma) join the Union.
Theodore Roosevelt wins the Nobel Peace Prize in his role for ending the Russo-Japanese War.

1907: Immigration increases in the United States.

1908: John Kern (Democrat) defeats James Sherman (Progressive), William H. Taft (Conservative), and Eugene Debs (Socialist).
The states of Edmonton and Alberta join the Union.

1909: John Kern signs the London Pact, replacing Quadruple Alliance.

1910: William H. Taft splits from the Conservative Party, and takes some Progressive Party members with him.  He forms the Constitutional Party.

1911: The states of New Mexico and Arizona join the Union.

1912: James Sherman (Progressive) defeats John Kern (Democrat), Eugene Debs (Socialist), Nicholas Butler (Conservative), and William H. Taft (Constitutional).
The Panama Canal is finished.  The United States buy the Virgin Islands from the Netherlands, and form the Territory of the Antilles.

1913: The US Army is increased by nearly 20%, and ship construction for the US Navy is increased too.

Good timeline.  I was losing track of all of the new states early on but now that it's dealing with areas outside of North America I can follow them.

Custer had little use for Republicans, I believe. He was a conservative democrat. Of course, this is your timeline, so things might be different.
