I don't know how. What do we want it to be like? Do we want to use some sort of Confederate symbolism? What exactly is our symbol? Statesrights, you need to think about these things, you're the founder!

Hey you can join Beet if you want.

Ha, but like Nation said, I think I we disagree on the platform too much. I might join a more centrist party later but I'll serve out this term as a forum Democrat because like Hughento said it would be unfair to change from the party you were elected as.

"The party for the South" part is kind of redundant.

that damn flag is a disgrace to the words "Republican" and "Southern".  I'm quite frankly horrified.

Don't make a party; make an alliance. I want to join! My dad's from Texas, that's gotta found for something.... oh yeah and my great grandfather has a building named after him at Texas A&M.

The original Stars and Bars is a far better flag... it is a great shame that as with the swastika (originally a Tibetan Budist and Hindu symbol) a symbol that did stand for something completely different is now synonymous with bigotry and hatred...

That said I would say that the stars and bars is not quite a popularly reviled as the swastika... but as anything other than a state's flag no... and the best symbol of southern independent is the original starts and bars... show bellow...

It looks nicer and is free from the inaccurate connotations that a few "yahoos" (to quote Shelby Foote) have lead many to associate the latter version of the flag with...

Actually isn’t that symbol that is suggested (the shield with the stars and bars and then a map of the south) the symbol for the fringe “Southern National Party”?

It is the symbol for some radical group, but we can highjack it. And yes the genuine Confederate flag is nicer than the stars and bars, but I am not opposed to using either of them

I don’t think you should use the flag directly but perhaps if you include the eleven stars of the eleven confederate states as a more subtle reference to the south, that might be an effective thing to do… perhaps in a red ring which encircles a GOP elephant symbol or perhaps a less partisan symbol like the American eagle seal or lady liberty or something of that nature… a circular device with a ring containing the 11 stars sounds good to me though.
