John Kerry does not like John Edwards. Notice how the VP hype with him has calmed down and more hype has begun with Gephardt? Look for Kerry/Gephardt.

Reagan did not much like Bush (at the beginning, after the GOP Primary), but he picked him anyway.

Kerry would run with his arch enemy if he thought it was good strategy.  Kerry calculates every move he makes.

No, this is true.  James Carvelle said so on his trip up to Erie recently and I heard the same thing from Mel Kahn (professor of Poli. Sci. Colorado State).  Kerry does not like Edwards.  Just look at some pictures of them together.  Kerry does like Gephardt, however.  I don't know who he'll go with though.  Gephardt comes with his own ball and chain.

You mean like when he went to Ohio and said "Americans should be driving American cars, not Hondas" without realizing the Honda is the second largest private employer in the state of Ohio?

And Toyota is the largest privat employer in Tennessee.  Just thought I would add that.

Teddy Roosevelt and Charles Fairbanks couldn't stand each other. Fairbanks rarely spent time in Washington, and went up to oversee some prosepects of gold in Alaska. He started up a little township of people looking for gold, and that is why we have Fairbanks, Alaska.

It is true. I've heard some people say the same thing. I think Kerry was/is angry that Edwards stayed in the race as long as he did. Kerry really seems like an asshole to me, at least in his private-public life, if you get waht I mean. (As in, with certain collegues, behind the image, but not to his family, friends, personal life, etc.). I think that's why there's no VP yet.....Edwards is the obvious choice, but Kerry is stalling and trying to avoid picking him because he really doesn't like him. He would probably make a lot of people angry if he didn't choose Edwards, or at least somewhat disheartened/less passionate, but I think he ought to choose Bill Richardson. Solidify the Hispanic vote, etc.

no only would richardson solidify the hispanic vote, it would help with the general catholic vote.

You can bet Kerry will be running on some form of Protectionism this fall, despite his past votes. THis is his best chance to knock loose blue collar voters who would othervise vote for Bush. I doubt it will be Gov Richardson because except for FLA, a state that is a wildcard no matter how one cuts it, the states that have a large number of electroal votes and a large number of hispanics are either solidly Dem such as CA, NJ, CT, NY and IL, or GOP, such as TX.

Couldn't agree more!  Hispanicism doesn't help, but protectionism might.  Neither would win FL, but the latter helps in OH/PA/WV.  Also might help hold WS, IA, MI, which are likely but not very solid.  I can report there are plenty of protectionist minded Republicans here in Missouri - the sort of saps who voted for Perot - but I think not enough to swing the state to a Kerry.

To repeat what other people have said, it doesn't matter if they dont like each other.  If Kerry thinks it will win him the election, he might pick him anyway.

As far as the whole Kerry not liking Edwards thing I think that whole issue was taking out of context.  Their were some people within the Kerry camp that were upset over how long Edwards stayed in the primaries and some of them may not have liked Edwards all that much, but as far as Edwards and Kerry go I ahve heard nothing to make me think that they don't like each other.
