More voters willing to consider Bush

Rasmussen reports that 54% of likely voters are willing to consider voting for Bush this November, compared to 49% willing to vote for Kerry. Doesn't this mean that support for Kerry is pretty much at it's max? If these numbers are stable, Bush wins. Do these numbers mean anything to you, all of my fellow political junkies?

Hard to say....
If the 54/49 is among the total population it may be a slight bush advantage...
if the 54/49 is among what Rasmussen defines as a "likely" voter what it means is unclear as it tells us nothing about the pool of potential voters which might vote one way or the other.

It's a tough call, but would be an interesting statistic to follow, just in the off chance we can see a trend forming. But with all that aside, anything can happen in November, which would toss the trend right out the window.
However, it does seem to indicate a positive sign for Bush at the time being. I would like to see it open more before September rolls around.

I checked the survey and to clarify things, it was a survey of 2000 likely voters, so that could leave out a lot of voters. correct.

MODU, is it just me or does it look like Bush is sitting on Powell's lap in your photo?

hahaha . . . in a way it does.
I just like the fact that Bush is sitting there, scowling at the UN while it is Powell having to wear the translators headphones to understand what is being said. But the scowl says it all. "I'm pissed."

I saw this poll as well and I was surprised. I would have assumed more voters would be willing to vote for Kerry rather than Bush so I think this is at least somewhat good news for Bush if the numbers are correct.
