[outside the sectary’s Virginian home, with reporters and camera crews filling the back lawn that has been prepared for the press conference]

[Ben emerges from the French windows at the back of the house and walks the podium]

“Ladies and Gentlemen”

“Thank you for your time, my statement will be brief and we will have some time for questions afterwards…

…Over the last few weeks and days I have been offered the support of a great many of my colleagues, who I greatly respect, in relation to running for high office either as a senator or as a Governor of my own beloved region. Such has been the response from my friends and colleges that, I believe, I could win such a contest where I to run, However I must say that, firstly, I already hold an important post and that to leave that post after such a short time would be plain wrong and a breach of the faith the President has placed in me, furthermore with my many commitments (both inside and outside of the forum) I do not believe that I would have the time or dedication to fully execute my duties as either an active governor or senator for my home region and so I have decided that I shall not be running for either the senate or the governorship of this great region. I thank the many, many people who have offered their support and endorsement of any run I where to make and I am very sorry if they feel I have let them down, however if I cannot discharge my duties as either governor or senator at this time, then I think it would be a disservice to both the people of my region and the nation as a whole to run at this time, that said I will certainly “keep my options open” and in due time I do expect that I will run for an elected office, but in the mean time I will continue to do the job that the president has seen fit to offer me and congress has confirmed upon me, namely that of sectary of the treasury…

…Thank you, Any Questions?”
