Bush is still in office. Who would you vote for, and who would win?

Also, what would a map look like? Could Giuliani win his home state?

I like Giuliani, but, the GOP will pick a sock puppet over a pro-choice, pro-gay moderate.

But neither of those issues have anything to do with federal government.

What we really need is a fiscal conservative...

I'd love if Giuliani got the nom but I don't see it happening. He wouldn't win NY if he did somehow make it to the general.

He's way too liberal to get the nom in this Republican party.  It'd alienate the huge conservative wing of the party, and the Dems could probably run a Southerner like Edwards and sweep the South, despite Edwards being pro-abortion and for civil unions, too.

The south isn't going to vote for another pro-choice guy over Giuliani, who at least agrees with them on something.

I dont see the south bolting and voting for a more liberal candidate, ie the democrat in the general election.

Giuliani might have alot of troble in the primary for the above mentioned reasons.  Of course,  most of the primary depends on who wins iowa and new hampshire

The general election map might look interesting

I think a southern Dem candidate such as edwards would win quite a few states over Guliani.  The Dems in the south would still vote Dem, but many reps in the south especially the core of the base the Conservatives would either vote for a 3rd party candidate or simply won't show up tho the polls & vote between two pro-choice, pro-gun control, Pro- Gay Rights candidates
