What would the map look like if it was only the extreme left and extreme right having an election against each other.  Discuss with maps!

I think if America had a choice between the Far Right and the Far Left, they'd go with the Far Right. Which unfortunately is the Constitution Party.

Is it possible to make a map with the Constitution Party colors?  I don't see that option on the EV calculator.

You could use yellow or orange by manipulating the code in your post. Other than that...no.

Depends on the candidates, not the issues, in this case. Whoever is charismatic/not a nutjob would likely win.

That's always a huge problem with 3rd parties.  They don't seem to have any members that posses the "I'm not a weirdo, just a normal intelligent person" peoples skills.

Yea, and the "third party" thing also just adds that factor of "oh gosh, should we even let this person in the room?"

Y'know, Obama wouldn't have had to change much for his platform in '08 to be a Green party platform, a moderate one but still...

269-269 tie. How does Congress sort it out?

They'd probably end up choosing between a bland GOP Senator (Lugar, D-IN) and a bland Democratic Senator (Levin, D, MI).

True. But Ralph Nader on a Green ticket is more well known than any Constitution Party member.

I remember in 2008 when they polled the candidates positions most people still didn't know Obama's positions on stuff like abortion and unions. Same may hold true here.

Yeah. This is a pretty weird electoral situation. Could go any which way.

Maybe just a smidge more than I would trust people who believe Jesus told them to nuke Russia because the Antichrist lives there.

This is why most of us are Republicans or Democrats.

Hypothetically, Congress could just have an informal gentleman's agreement to always have a tie whenever the choice between the Green and Constitutional candidates is brought up, and then just elect a sane compromise candidate as PPT/Speaker who would then ascend to the Presidency and "temporarily" hold it for the entire term.
