Let's say Obama wins a second term with a 5-point victory. His approval slides into the high forties-low fifties. Tim Kaine wins the nomination and pivks Sebelius as his running mate. Crist wins the GOP nomination and picks Huntsman as his running mate.

Wonder what a 5 point victory would look like? The map just looks like it did, with more reasonable margins out west and Obama losing places where Democrats had no place winning (probably Indiana, North Carolina or perhaps even Florida/Ohio but not both)

Crist wins a close election.  After 8 years of Democratic administration, the nation witnesses a Republican resurgence.

Kaine is completely uninspiring.
