I don't think I've ever seen anyone here defend Chavez.

Anyway Chavez is a classic South American demagogue. Nothing unusual about this at all (except this one, for particular reasons, claims himself to be left-wing).

I'm not saying most leftists, I'm not even saying 10% of leftists. A small percentage of leftists here in the states find Chavez to be a good leader, and those people have to reason to.
