Come on. 152 Guests and 48 users?

Why are they always so much more guests than users?

The unique misfortune of the Palestinian refugees is that they are a weapon in what seems to be a permanent war...today, in the Middle East, you get a repeated sinking sensation about the Palestinian refugees: they are only a beginning, not an end. Their function is to hang around and be constantly useful as a goad. The ultimate aim is not such humane small potatoes as repatriating refugees.

Yeah, they archive the pages on here so you can find them on Google. I've found numerous classic threads from years ago because of the guests looking at them.

As a side note, googlebot activity has dropped significantly recently. When I was new here, it was not uncommon to come on at 3 AM to see 300 guests & 5 users online.

You mean robots are reading my posts?  We can't allow that.  Someone needs to build a Cylon detector, so we can flush them out.

The actual googlebots themselves are actually pretty good, but back in the day most other search engines' bots (Yahoo especially IIRC) were grossly inefficient and there would usually be dozens per company at a time often reading many of the same threads. Presumably, the other engines have gotten more efficient algorithms now or something.

I was speaking of stuffs about forums with someone who admin a French forum for computer on which I go. I told him that he could make the function that there is here, which is that when you click on a link it opens a new page, this is not the case on his forum.

He explained me the reasons why it was not the case on his forum, and that it was more or less because of robots of search engines (I won't explain you why and I don't think I got everything, and this is not my point here). So, because I had not really understood, I went to tell him that there were lots of bots here, and that it wasn't a problem for you to make run this function for a new page. I gave him the address of here, in order he has a look.

So, well, (I come with my point, wait), speaking about bots of search engines, he came to tell me that he had a tool to see how much such URL was present in such search engine. He told me that to have a real idea of the referencing of a site on the net, we should use such a tool on the URLs of each thread, but, that would be a huge work, so he just made the test with the URL of the index page of here, and the results are:

The URL of the index page of Atlas is present:

171 times in all Google
MSN has been unavailable
455 times in Yahoo

He explained me that it meant that for example there are 171 links to the URL of the index page throughout all sites referenced in Google as a whole .

He also explained me that if this site wants a better referencing, it should make appear the titles of each thread inside the URL of each thread, robots like it he told me. And that if you wanted to test your referencing, you had to, with such a tool test the important URLs of this site.

Maybe Dave, the admin of here, already knew that but here is...
