After a very close race José Manuel Durão Barroso is out
Result of Round 8
José Manuel Durão Barroso 4
José Sócrates 3
Start of Round 10
I vote for
Diogo Freitas do Amaral
Only a interim PM. In reality gives 2 Freitas do Amaral. In the 70ies ans 80ies a stubborn conservative in the later times more moderate. A short time foreign minister of José Sócrates. I vote for him because of his early times

Are today all sleeping
Only 2 votes
. We need more. In the moment it's a tie between Freitas do Amaral and Sócrates.

Wow, a tie again
You have 24 hours more time to vote. Maybe somebody break the tie.

Okay, when it is in the end of the round a tie, Sócrates is out. I'm not a big fan of him. I find him only better like Barroso, but all Sócrates-lovers can vote for Freitas do Amaral and save him

Not a lover, exactly. But he seems more relevant and deserving of survival here.
Freitas do Amaral.

I like Sócrates a little bit more like Mota Pinto, but i hope he will eliminate soon. Meantime I've got a allergic reaction against his name

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

Mario Soares. Senile self-centered old bastard. (Talking of his most recent role, of course.)

Come on Lewis, this isn't fair
After the Revolution he was very good and without a man like him i don't know Portugal goes on the right way. Then the communists under Álvaro Cunhal (i don't support him, but a very important man) had no strong opponent. For today you are right, but maybe in 50 years it give people they say the same about you

Yeah, this would be a bad thing. The PCP was and is very obedience to authority, The Boss speaks and all other say yes. This isn't the world i want. You can say this is in every party the same, but in the PCP it's extreme.

Would that be the case still (post 1990, say) if it hadn't been pressed into a position where its survival is ensured and it has no chance of breaking out of its ghetto, though? No way to know...
I was partly sarcastic, of course. I know the PCP is a pretty unreconstructed Commie Party. Though a different outcome might indeed have been possible if events 74-6 would have gone differently. Oh well... I'm no great fan of alternative history, so no point engaging in writing one now.

I vote for
Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo
I wrote it before. She wasn't a bad woman and I like her, but now she must go. She haven't influence in the Portuguese Politics and she was a little bit to Catholic for me
