fab and Kalwejt, you begin with the big names. Sócrates and Durão Barroso aren't the best but there give worse like them.

I vote for António de Spínola

He was the first, provisional President after the Revolution. Spínola was not a part oft the group witch made the Carnation Revolution, but he was very famous and popular in the military. He resigns after his right-wing ideas have no majority in the MFA (Movimento das Forças Armadas) and then he want to make a right-wing coup attempt in March 1975.

You're right, but Kalwejt attacking frontly, I was forced to vote for Socrates. Otherwise, I would have voted for Spinola.
If this survivor isn't "popular", maybe I'll change my vote ! Wink

I switch my vote to Spinola.

PM Hash and Bono: they may be interested !
Or if they read this, they may say if they intend to vote in it.

(I've thought about a Portuguese one, but it's true the big number of interim guys in 1974-1979 isn't very easy to manage !)

Just ineffective and old-fashioned, in a sense.

I don't vote just for the more leftist guys. Really. It's a pity a Survivor is polluted by that.
That's why I feel forced to retaliate in the World Leaders Survivor Wink
The other international survivors should remain the most impartial as they can.
My German survivor was quite balanced and that's fine.
I hope the French one will remain as though.
I hope this one will remain as though.
For the British one, it's already over, unfortunately....
And that's why I carved the Soviet and sister party leaders survivor: there, no room for blind partisanship Cheesy

I don't know her well... She seems to have implemented some measures for welfare, as a social catholic.

I vote for Balsemao.

Another astonishing choice Wink but, at least, there is a little suspense !

Wow, a tie again Cheesy

You have 24 hours more time to vote. Maybe somebody break the tie.
Or you could change your vote, like in the last round ! Wink

It's very difficult now.
Guterres, Sampaio, Cavaco Silva weren't big guys but weren't bad ones.
Soares is THE Portuguese leader, even if he may be more controversial.
Eanes is a bit dull and I haven't liked him, but, well, he was a bit a modern "father of the nation".

I don't want to waste my vote and we must have some suspense...

Soares

No, don't kill me, Hans-im-Glück !

That's democracy. Soares is my favourite, but when he is out (in the moment it`s a tie Wink) i don't cry.  Since Lewis the last rounds vote against him, i think Soares cannot win. By the way, 1975 i was a child (7 years old) and meet Mário Soares. He comes as foreign minster to my tiny little town in Germany. My father, he was from Portugal, go with me to the city hall and speaks with him. This day i think my father is very important Cheesy. It's 35 years ago, but this day I'll never forget.

No panic fab, i don't kill you. I'm not a violent man Wink.
I was just kiddin'.

Fine to learn that you've met with a "big" part of Portugal's history ! Smiley
