I support what should be his right to say whatever the hell he pleases, stupid shit, or not, but on a personal level, the guy seems like a real douchebag. Prison isn't the answer.

All of this is exactly why sensible people should simply expose this crap for what it is - lies or delusions. Not that most people will listen to him anyways.

Locking him up for free speech is only adding fuel to the "oppressive government" fire the neo-Nazi lugheads use to power their steamship of hate.

Strongly oppose his views and find them repulsive but support his right to free speech. I hate the fact that holocaust deniers have become free speech martyrs due to stupid censorious laws.

The state shouldn't be empowered to declare ideas "dangerous". Democracy allows citizens to reject awful political movements, why criminalize them and set an ominous precedent for the suppression of free speech?

Absolute freedom of speech is not some sort of innate human right. States are not all obligated to obey America's standards.

Evil piece of sh**t deserves to be locked up under his country's laws.

Do you really lack the fundamental self-awareness to realize how silly the idea of locking up people for saying things disagreeable is? If you don't protect unpopular speech then you don't protect speech at all.

Also I notice you say things like this all the time but never actually defend them. Explain to us logically why it's a good thing to imprison people for saying unpopular and controversial, if repugnant, things. Or is it just okay when you do it? Because something tells me you would be the first one to complain if a right-wing regime began cracking down on the free speech rights of leftists. You can't have it both ways (unless you're a Stalinist).

there's a difference between "disagreeable things/unpopular speech/whatever" and holocaust denial

Not there isn't. It's literally the exact same thing. Holocaust Denial is literally a textbook example of unpopular disagreeable speech. Don't get me wrong it's probably as wrong as you can be about 20th Century history but you shouldn't be in legal trouble for saying it.

I really couldn't care less. I don't think his offenses are worth prison (a hefty fine and a permanent ban on publishing activities should be enough), but I won't shed a tear for a guy like him.
