In the Charlotte area for a week

My parents just moved down to Indian Land S.C (literally right over the border from Mecklenberg County, N.C) so I decided to come down for a week.  Kind of weird down here, everything seems to close so early compared to LI.  Anyone around this area know if their is anything to do at night around here?

There's some good clubs in Uptown Charlotte. My ex-Asian mistress and I went to "Bar Charlotte" once, but I'm not really into the club scene that much. I'm more of an ocean guy, myself.

My Aunt, uncle and cousin also moved down here.  My cousin didn't want to do come down, but just couldn't afford to stay on LI.  We went looking for bars last night with the GPS, but pretty much looked around the South Charlotte, Pineville area.  One place we found was some 30 somethings dive bar, another place didn't exist, another one took us to someones house.

Figured most of the areas would be in uptown Charlotte, but didn't really want to head up there when we had no real clue about the area.
