Ok let's say that Henry Ford is able to win the Michigan Senatorial Election in 1918 against Newberry. The Captain of Industry sits out the 1920 Presidential election, knowing a landslide loss is expected for James Cox against Harding. However, during the tulmutous 1924 Democratic Convention, Ford is nominated as a Comprimise candidate. He picks popular Mississippi Senator Pat Harrison as his running mate. Can Ford pull off a Victory against the lacklust campaigner in Coolidge? Might LaFollette split the vote enough to throw the election to the House?

A much closer election, but Cal pulls out a 305-201-25 victory:

I was always under the impression that Henry was a Republican, a progressive leaning one at that, not a Democrat.

Henry Ford ran as a Democrat for the US Senate in 1918 and narrowly lost.

The absolute best case for LaFollette and Ford.
