New way of measuring political affiliation- how strong of a partisan you are

Poll
Question: Well- how close do you follow your party's principals?
#1
I'm an exceptionally strong partisan, that only really agrees with my party's 10 or 20 most  partisan members of the senate. Sometimes I criticize my party's highest elected official for not being partisan enough.

#2
I'm pretty much a rank-and-file partisan. I disagree with my party from time to time, but its usually not a big deal (nothing like health care reform or abortion)

#3
I'm a pretty moderate partisan. I am definately a member of my party, but I have a host of independent positions. I still agree with my party about 85% of the time.

#4
I'm on the edge of my party. I have some major disagreements with my party, but still like to call myself an Independent Partisan

#5
I'm an independent, who really doesn't like the policies of either party, however, I still find myself criticizing/voting for one party than I do another

#6
I'm a true Independent! I'm a member of the radical center and my vote will be up for grabs at least as late as the debates.

I have no love for the Democratic Party alot of the time, but in America more strong progressive types have no other option.

That being said, however, I think the other party is largely crazy.

Option 4, I suppose. I don't have any love for the Democratic Party.

Option 2. I have ever dwindling patience for any politician outside of the Libertarian Party.

Other. I'd choose independent, but I don't have a party, and my vote is up for grabs in the event of someone outside of the democratic, republican, parties. Certainly not centrists.

Option 5.  I really can't stand the Republicans, but the frequency of candidates in that party being acceptable is slightly higher than in the Democratic Party.  I feel almost no need to vote for a generic Republican solely because of their party.

I'm kind of complicated. I'm not exceptionally liberal and have disagreements with both the more liberal and more conservative members of my party. I'm pretty hawkish when it comes to defense issues, relatively moderate on social issues, pretty liberal on most economic issues, and then a few random things regarding other issues.

However, there's exactly one Republican in elected office right now that I would even consider voting for. Add that onto the fact that I'm extremely active in my local party (attended one of their picnic's today and another one tomorrow) and I've been involved in long-term strategy and candidate recruitment for them. And I've not only volunteered for numerous Democratic campaigns but have also been a paid employee of a few.

So I'm extremely partisan... but not extremely liberal. I'm a "moderate activist" if that makes sense.

Most likely option 5. I used to be really partisan in my younger years, but I've found myself drifting into the abyss of free thought. I disagree with the party more than I agree with it, but I find myself voting for their candidates more often than not, probably because I disagree with the other party that much more.

Definitely an independent partisan Democrat -most of the time I vote for Democrats, but I won't hesitate to vote Republican (even the conservative ones) if they merit it.  The last time I measured the frequency of my past votes (beginning in 2000), about 60% of the time I voted for Democrats, and the other 40% I voted Republican.

And on ideology, I still consider the Democratic Party closer to my positions than the Republican Party, though I am still an imperfect fit.

The Libertarian Party doesn't have politicians. It has jokes who occasionally run for office.

Moderate partisan.

In all honesty my positions have not changed a great deal (though how to go about executing those principles has) The ground beneath my feet have shifted to such an extent I found myself being a Labour fringer supporter, to Tory fringe to verging close to the Tory mainstream. Therefore I find most Tory positions agreeable, while holding some strong disagreements on particular issues.

I am not a partisan Democrat. The biggest thing I agree with them on is peak oil. We either adapt or we perish. So, please, let's start adapting.
