It appears that recent Corzine attacks on Christie have paid some limited dividends. Recall that Christie lead by 13 in the last Rasmussen poll in July.

TOPLINE:

Without Leaners, Christie up by 11.
Christie 47%
Corzine 36%
Other 7%

With Leaners, Christie is up by 8.
Christie 50%
Corzine 42%
Other 2%

Furhter, Christie saw a surge in his unfavorables, putting him in net negative territory. The only consolation there is that Corzine is even deeper net negative,C with higher intensity.

Christie (R): 11% very fav / 37% somewhat fav / 32% somewhat unfav / 19% very unfav
Corzine (D): 13% very fav / 23% somewhat fav / 25% somewhat unfav / 36% very unfav

Christie is trusted more on taxes, 48–28.
Christie is trusted more on cutting gov't spending, 49–23.
Christie is trusted more on cutting corruption, 47–25.

Obama's approvals are at 55–44.

I think this will be quite a close race by election day.

I think Daggett should start getting more support if the erosion of Christie's favorability continues.

I think Daggett should start getting more support if the erosion of Christie's favorability continues.

His name recognition is essentially 0 and he seriously lacks the funds needed to become well known, even with state matching funds. His poll numbers won't be moving any time soon, because no one will know who the hell he is.

Further, with Corzine pushing to get the debates rescheduled for October 22 (over game 5 of the World Series) and ELEC inclined to allow it, no one is going to see him debate, either.

Corzine will win 56-44.

As usual New Jersey is pathetic. I am giving up on this race.

There is no way Christie will win. And I'm being serious.

Yeah, because clearly nobody could confuse that with a non-serious prediction...
