Besides the junk they throw at us in school, I don't think I've read a fiction novel since like the last Harry Potter book or something.

Sometimes. I either get really into books or can't stand them.

Seldom.  But occasionally -- and purely pulp.  Nothing great.  I read a fair number of the great fiction books in high school and college.

I've been meaning to get to The Bridge of San Luis Rey since it was one of my Dad's favorites.  But I so love non-fiction, I never seem to get around to it.

Sure if I find an author whom I like, such as Pat Conway. But my favorite is history, and beyond the "real" stuff, if a good historical fiction novel comes out, let me know!

I am so pissed that a friend of mine did not clue me into a soiree she attended Friday evening with George McGovern hawking his new biography of Lincoln, because, well, she got to sit next to Gore Vidal, whose historical novels I am enjoyed immensely, even if as a human being he is close to the HP territory. But that doesn't mean I would not have been fascinated to chat with that particular HP!

McGovern thinks by the way, that Afghanistan might be Obama's Waterloo, hearsay has it. Take it for what it is worth.
