My College Republican group wants to do a fundraiser on September 11th, and we were going to do something for the families of the victims, but most of the charities for that have stopped accepting donations, so one of our members sent me a link to the Fealgood Foundation (http://www.fealgoodfoundation.com/).  My only hesitancy is that he's kinda a Ron Paul / Truther crazy, so I'm a bit cautious of anything he suggests.  Does anybody know anything about the organization?

Can't find anything with either the BBB (give.org) or Charity Navigator.   However, Charity Navigator does provide suggestions in evaluating a charity.

If you're looking for a 9/11 related alternative, you might consider the New York City Police Foundation
