1: Orthodox Jew
2: fundamentalist Protestant
3: member of Mormon church

Take into account personal behavior as well as political views.

I don't want to see any of them bare.

1>3>2

While I strongly disagree with the views of orthodox Jews and Mormons, I can find some empathy for their concerns, and such people are less personally abrasive.

Fundamentalist Protestants, however, have far more negative traits.

3>1>2... not all Mormons are crazy wack-jobs, and even if they are they tend to be nice Smiley

I also have friends who are Orthodox Jews so they're nice, too.

Fundamentalist Protestants, on the other hand, I interact with few of.

Sorry, I voted 2>1>3 when I meant 3>1>2...

Both are equally disgusting so I chose to rank the by the power ( and therefore the danger they represent ). Fundamentalist are certainly the most harmful of the three, Othodoxs also proved to have some efficacity with recent events in Jerusalem... whereas mormons are crazy but without any influence outside their own community.

Strange that people always seem to assume that Orthodox = Hasidm.

Anyway, my own personal experience would be 1. Orthodox Jew, 2. Mormon 3. Fundamentalist Protestant. Mormon's being 2 by default - not really met enough to develop that sort of opinion.

Fundamentalist are certainly the most harmful

really?  I go to what I would consider to be a fundamentalist church, yet I find it caring and protective.  Our recent sermon was based off of 1Samuel chapter 4 and went over three fatal mistakes to avoid:

1. Don’t confuse the symbols of God with the presence of God
2. Don’t confuse office and title within the church with character and integrity
3. Don’t confuse enthusiasm and noise with genuine worship and faith

Sounds like down-to-earth good advice to me.

Jmfsct sounds like a great church man

I am fine with all 3 groups tho I think the mormons have some real hang ups with what they beleive like about multiple wives and baptising dead people and crap like that.

But really as long as a religious group recognizes that this is a christian nation and was founded by christians for christians all people should be welcome. its when they start trying to get God out fo the schols or force their own symbols on the majority that there is a problem.

Excellent post and I agree with this reasoning.

While I don't care much for the theology of any of these groups, I do think that the Protestants are being unfairly maligned, probably because of their greater numbers and influence.

I have never met or interacted with an Orthodox Jew, so I really cannot comment. But if my experiences with the other two groups are any indication, it would be thus:

Some very warm, nice people.  Some really crazy, but basically harmless people.  And a small number of truly dangerous kooks.

There's really no need to parse beyond that.  There are dangerous and nutty leftists, too.

this and I voted 3-1-2.  I've never met an asshat that was a Mormon and I've met a lot of asshats and quite a few Mormons.  Fundie Protestents have a very high rate of asshat to non-asshat.  I'm guessing the cats with the beards and big hats fall somewhere inbetween.

And the OP didn't include Opus Dei Mel Gibson types.  I mean, if we're talking fundamentalists...

Surely we can rear enough hungry lions for all three?  But 1>>>>>>>>>>>>3>>>>2 is the obvious answer.
