As I was looking at the forum I notice there wasn't a thread to remember 9/11, which is sad. We should never forget what happen on that day. My prayers will go to every family who lost someone on that day and all the troops family would lost their life in this war we are fighting right now. God Bless America!

The footage of the attacks should be shown all day........and not this stupid media ban that seems in place.

America forgets too easily.

CNN did literal replay of their coverage a year or two ago IIRC.

How about we stop being assholes  by attacking Bush's foreign policy and pay our respects for the innocent who died on 9/11.

lookin' round youtube, I found an interesting video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0hRXohryFM

It syncs ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX's 9/11 coverage.  Just interesting to watch and remember

I think 8 years has provided a bit more historical perspective on this event, and America's predictable over-reaction is really more significant than 9-11 itself.  Not that it wasn't important.  It was a wake up call, but the United States was tuned to the wrong station.

America didn't over-react. It'd be almost impossible to over-react to 9/11. America reacted incorrectly

Just a thought.....maybe we should refrain from political debate here.....please? It'd be a pity if this turned into something like the RIP Kennedy thread.

Yeah guys. I have many issues with Bush's presidency, but this isn't about him. This is about those innocent people who were murdered by terrorists on this day, 8 years ago.

May they rest in peace.

If 9/11 had happened almost anywhere else, it would have been just another day in the life.  But okay, I'll refrain from debating this.

Both September 11 victims and victims in Iraq died because of either fanaticism or political stupidity

And that's the sadded thing

This is above politics.  It's a very real and powerful memory for some of us, I'd appreciate it if it weren't demonized and politicized.  Those lost will never be forgotten and the day will be with us forever.

Lief, that is a tragedy, but this isn't the time to take snips at Bush's foriegn policy. It's a time to honor our fallen, innocent civilians.

No, I never have. You must have confused me with someone else. All human lives are worth the same, and worth saving.
