One of the more interesting things I found with libertarianism is how a few of the people who claim that label often take views which are authoritarian or contradictory in nature.  In some ways it seems like some of them want maximum personal liberty for themselves only, and to heck with everyone else.

So which of these posters is not like that - which yellow avatars advocates a worldview consistent with maximizing personal freedom for all?

Is that your justification for your posts in Economics?

I will admit my ideas do not fall into the dye in the wool libertarian mindset. However, I don't believe that I embrace any policy that would help spread authoritarianism.

P.S.: Those of you who bring up labor unions, let me reinforce that I support a BALANCE between labor and business, not kowtowing to either special interest group in this respect. To side with either over the other only encourages the special interest oligarchy to grow, thus leading to an authoritarian state ruled wither by the hand of the State, or the Corporation.

Now with that said, if you want to talk about both coherent and legitly libertarian (like the nearest to 100% dye in the wool) I would say PiT or SPC come the closest.

PiT is the epitome of libertarian thinking on this site.

PiT is the epitome of libertarian thinking on this site.

This is pretty much the truth.

I will admit I'm not always the most libertarian poster, but I do try to be largely coherent.

Yes, PiT is the definition of libertarian.

Libertarianism is basically extreme self-justification. Some of our libertarian posters show that well.

I will admit I'm not always the most libertarian poster, but I do try to be largely coherent.

Try harder.

No, I'm an actual libertarian. You do realize, do you not, that the term and the philosophy predates Goldwater and the screaming Right by about a century and a half, and during that timeframe was almost exclusively a left-wing phenomenon?

I basically learned everything I know about libertarian philosophy from posts by SPC & Einzige, so they deserve most of the credit for me being coherently libertarian. Tongue

Surprisingly few people do.
