AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Of course some of it is, but the vast majority of it is not.  The opposition is mean and nasty... but that's what happens when people get so damned polarized.

I'm tired of everybody pulling the race card every time someone disagrees with Obama.

Polarization is not an acceptable excuse for racist behavior.  I have seen a fair amount of it both with regards to Obama and Sonia Sotomayor.  It certainly was a clear reminder why I, as a minority, choose to not associate with the Republican Party.

That said, I am not suggesting that opposition to Obama's policy plans equals racism.

Snow-g, they hate him a lot more than they disagree with him.

Well, no, not all.  But conservative ones, sure.

I would say less than 1% are actually racists.  Since the grumbling and some protests began back in 2008 under Bush when he authorized TARP, it's hard to claim "racism" against both a White president and a Half-and-Half president.

I feel this is a good place to post this video: What Birthers Believe.

I think it is quite clear after that (and yes I was just looking for a place to post that youtube link).

Yes and no.

Yes.  Nobody was saying Clinton was a communist Nazi Kenyan Muslim who should be arrested for treason.

No.  Most of the actual opposition to Obama is just typical disagreement with his policies.

It is certainly a factor with some of them, but as Franzl says, they'd be just as embarrassing if it was Hillary.

I'm not sure, but I am pretty open to that fact. In fact, I would give it a 55-45 chance that it is. So I voted "Yes".

Yes. More than 10% and less than 50% of Obama's opponents are racists. I don't feel confident enough to make a more accurate assessment. Probably/hopefully it's closer to 10 than 50.

No, no its more like 90-95% are racists.  Heck, about 50% of Democrats are racist, Old Eu.

1. Lol, while I'll admit that probably a segment of the protestors have racist ideas, it is no where near that high.

2. Lol, so much for the "big tent party" There are barely any racists in the Democratic Party.

I hope your using racism as a general term, because telling a racist joke (We've all done it) is no where close to actually going out and shooting people. If the numbers were that high, Obama would have been shot before he even took office.

So if I disagree with Obama, I'm a racist?
What if someone who is African American disagrees with Obama?

If we use this kind of logic, then couldn't you also say that any African American that disagreed with President Bush was a racist?

The question isn't whether you yourself are a racist, ChaosintheSky. The question is whether racism is a factor in opposition to the President.

The answer is probably yes for a small minority, although I do contend that they'd be bitching regardless with a Democrat in the White House.

Were Iraq war protesters racist against white Texans? Didn't think so (sure there are handful of racists protesting Obama, but not many)

With some, yes, some no. Most conservatives aren't racist, but the vast majority of racists are conservative.

yes, but only insofar as Obama has a deep seated resentment towards white culture and expresses that tangibly in his policies of reparation for the black man
