Be mindful of what you post.  It seems I posted an image in early August with the word f**k in it, and I received an official warning from Dave Leip today.

What is your opinion regarding the use of swear words and other foul language on the site?

Honestly, I have long fought against the censorship of this site, and have always lost out to the nanny mentality.

I agree.  But I think Leip got slapped on the wrist over copyrighted images and it would appear he's seeking out scapegoats.

Yes, and with no apparent explanation other than a link to the post which has not been edited or deleted as of yet.

Whatever, I understand he can get in big trouble over copyright issues so I won't hold it against him.. I just think the timing and lack of explanation were a bit odd.

I think the problem is that this seems random, inconsistent, and half-hearted.

OK - it is random - it is inconsistent, and at times it may be half-hearted.  But isn't enforcement often like this?  If a cop pulls you over and you give an excuse that the other guy was going 15 mph over just like you, that's not gonna get you out of a ticket.  I just think people need to give Dave a little bit of a break and respect the rules he's laid down.  If people didn't go around trying to avoid the censors and just abided by the ToS, he wouldn't have to go around enforcing stuff.

Just hope "screw" will stay fine. I find this word pretty convenient...

Other than that, no, I don't support a ban of such words, in case i would support to ban something, it would be of the way such or such words are used. You can very nicely say "F**k you" to someone, and you can say the same thing very nastily.

Concerning copyright, just a hack here about that: "screw them". (see, that's convenient...)
