I think it would be better to roll these two cabinet positions into one; something like a Secretary of the Interior (the European/Canadian definition, not the strange American one) or a Secretary of Internal Affairs (SoIA, keeping with the theme of our cabinet posts).

I concur. Shrinking it and keeping it in line with our other names for certain cabinet posts would make it much simpler. Plus, I don't like the idea of two new "playable" positions anyway.

I offer this as an amendment, basically combining the two positions and their respective obligations:

I find all of this unnecessary.

Well, because the US department of interior deals with public lands, it would be best to use a different name to avoid confusion.

SoIA would be the best name.

If we have an SoEA we might as well have one of these as well. They're both basically identical positions in terms of power and role in the game.

Afleitchwho would you suggest for this position if it is in fact implemented.

That's up to the President.

As far as I am concerned I think we need a slight expansion in the Cabinet to reflect the wide scope of legislation we have recently passed and the Senates focus on social legislation and economic legislation too. The fact we have a GM and a regular news tracker makes a further cabinet post easier to hold and be active in.

For the record I was one of the, then, politicos who called for the Cabinet to be reduced last time. I will happily acknowledge that but I really do feel times have changed.

It seems like a pretty good office, and I'll probably vote for this bill, but I have a feeling unless we get someone extremely committed to this, it will be an inactive post.

Hopefully there are some out there who would be committed to the position, and working in concert with the GM. But I think it's worth a trial run.

Yep. Hopefully the President has someone in mind. The only person who is coming to my mind is a popular Senator who probably wouldn't want to take this over being a Senator.

I wasn't able to debate this since I've been busy but I support this. It was going to be one of my campaign platforms but you introduced it and it's better to hopefully get it passed now. Anyways, I vote Aye.

Aye, It's a great idea, I love the nuts and bolts of policy, and it deserves it's trial run.

Aye.

Benefit of the doubt. If we gets clowns, incompetents in there or if they're woefully inactive, I'll introduce legislation to remove those offices.
