Only Macedonia (84.1%) and Albania (50.9%) went McCain (and Niue where only one person voted (and for McCain))

On a real result, McCain would have won at least most of Eastern Europe, Israel, the Philippines, maybe Australia, some random Pacific islands, possibly some other countries (China being a big potential prize, hard to really know how it would vote)

Australia tossed out Howard, they wouldn't vote McCain. Only in Poland, Croatia and maybe Romania would he have a chance in Eastern Europe, perhaps Slovakia if he wasn't running against Obama and Sarah Palin wasn't his running mate (Remember how toxic Palin's stunning stupidity on foreign policy would be internationally.)

McCain could win Liechtenstein, Andorra and Malta though (not that the first two really count as countries.)

McCain's brand of Republicanism, sure. Perfect fit. Palin, not so much.

The big difference is that, unlike pretty much every other developed country but like the United States, Australia is okay with militarism and prudishness. (Indeed, the ALP embodies these at least as much as the US Democratic Party does.)

Well, McCain could have won some states. But Obama would win anyways : Obamania is stronger in foreign countries that in US itself.
