January 1st, 2012- Unemployment at 9.1%

January 5th- With unemployment dropping near 9%, Gingrich's warnings of a second recession seem not too likley. Gingrich has decided to devote most of his resources to make as big win in South Carolina.

January 12th- Once thought of as a low key candidate, Mitch Daniels has made it clear that he is here to win. He has been campaigning hard in Iowa, and so far it so seems to be paying off. The most recent poll in the state conducted by Rasmussen, finds Pawlenty is now down to a five point spread against Daniels.

January 15th- With one day before Iowa, Santorum has decided to head towards South Carolina to try and throw over Gingrich. Pataki has devoted his recent campaigning to New Hampshire, with recent polling showing him in a dead heat there with Pawlenty.

January 16th-
IOWA RESULTS

Clinton 88.3%
Kucinich 11.7%

Pawlenty 34.2%
Daniels 31.9%
Santorum 16.3%
Gingrich 8.1%
Pataki 6.1%
Barbour 1.6%
Johnson 0.9%
Pence 0.5%
Perry 0.4%

Analysis- As expected Pawlenty did carry the state, but Daniels did come closer than expected. There was low turnout Gingrich, Pataki, and Barbour voters in the state.

January 17th- Following winning less than one percent in the Iowa caucuses, Mike Pence announced today in Indianapolis that he will drop his bid for President and endorse Mitch Daniels for President.

January 20th- In Houston today, Rick Perry announced that he will suspend his bid for president. Perry has not yet announced his endorsment, if any.

January 22nd- With Pawlenty's stance being hurt by his small win in Iowa, former New York Governor George Pataki has taken the oppurtunity to hammer him out in New Hampshire. The race is currently considered a toss up.

January 23rd-
NEW HAMPSHIRE

Clinton 80.1%
Kucinich 19.9%

Pataki 32.7%
Pawlenty 32.5%

Gingrich 7.8%
Johnson 6.5%
Barbour 0.8%

January 24th- Dennis Kucinich has announced today that he will suspend his campaign for president today. He will also endorse President Clinton.

January 28th- After his dissapointing loss in New Hampshire five days agao, Gary Johnson announced that he will suspend his candidacy for President. Johnson has not yet announced his endorsement.

January 29th- With Nevada and South Carolina a day away, all candidates have been campaigning as hard as possible. With Pawlenty starting to go down in the polls, Pataki and Daniels are headed towards Nevada. Gingrich and Santorum are currently fighting for South Carolina.

January 30th-
SOUTH CAROLINA

Gingrich 33.6%
Santorum 26.9%
Daniels 19.8%
Pawlenty 12.1%
Pataki 5.0%
Barbour 2.6%

NEVADA

Febraury 1st- Unemployment at 9.2%

Febuary 2nd- Following garnering only two and a half percent in the South Carolina Primary, Haley Barbour announced today that he is suspending his campaign for presidency and endorsing Newt Gingrich.

February 5th- With the Republican race now down to five, the race is getting closer than ever. Tomorrow is Super Tuesday, and Pawlenty is expected to hold an overall mild win due to most of the primaries on Super Tuesday being Pawlenty Leaning states. At this point, nobody knows who will come out on top as the republican nominee.

February 7th, 2012- Tim Pawlenty definately made big wins last night, carrying 7 of the fifteen states up for grabs, and spreading his delegate lead to a 47 point margin. He is expected to gain momentum even though his win was smaller than expected. The next primaries in Maryland, and Kentucky won't take place until March 6th.

February 9th- Mitch Daniels makes an announcement in Indianapolis.

"I have come here today to make an announcement. Being the only candidate not to win any states so far, and being in a five way race, I believe my decison is final. I wish to suspend my candidacy for the presidency of the United States because frankly, I don't want to be the one who's is stopping our nominee from reaching the number needed to win the nomination. Tomorrow I will formally endorse Rick Santorum. Thank you for your support, America."

February 20th- News aside from the primaries hit the stand today when Gaza fired twenty missiles into the heart of Jerusleum. This follows Israel announcing more settlements in the west bank.

February 22nd- President Clinton announced today that there are no plans to get involved in the gazan conflict. She said that there is no need for the US to get involved, and that Israel should have seen it coming to them.

February 26th- Rick Santorum hammered Pawlenty today, attacking him for supporting President Clinton's plan to not defend Israel. Pawlenty's new position has brought him to a standstill with Santorum among conservatives.

March 1st- Unemployment at 9.0%

March 3rd- Just three days before, the first primaries after super tuesday, Newt Gingrich made an announcement in Atlanta.

"We've come long and hard in this race, but it looks like our time has passed. Just as Mitch Daniels before me, I wish to suspend my candidacy for the presidency of the United States. I wish Santorum good luck, for I shall give him my endorsement tomorrow morning. For we do need a New face in the Republican Party, not an old one like mine."

The only places I can win big are the liberal states, and by the time there primary dates come I should be a good few hundred delegates behind my nearest competitor. So goodbye, New York, I will see you again tomorrow when I endorse Tim Pawlenty for president."

Good TL though.  Looking forward to the general election.
