What's Romney doing right now? I gather he's not the heir apparent to any Republican nomination given that he's been in Hillary's cabinet and tried to work for Universal Healthcare on a national level. Will he run for Senate or something in the future?

Given what Romney does in this timeline, I probably wouldn't be a Romney supporter, however, it's still interesting to see him take a different course in the post-2008 political world.  He's probably much more openly liberal after healthcare, though.

Well, of the four Republicans runnign, you don't give me much of a choice on who to support. Santorum and Rubio both have only been Senators, Palin is perceived as too stupid, and Romney's a turn coat who's begging to be let back into the party. Sad

With regards to Rubio, why is he listed as GOP when he's one of the Tea Party darlings as are Rand Paul, Mike Pence, Ron Paul, Jim DeMint etc.

Second, Daniels would not attack Pence if anything Daniels would be a possible ambassador between the GOP and the Tea Party.

Thirdly, Santorum would beat Pawlenty in 2012. After losing to the Dems with a moderate in 2008, the GOP would logically go with a dye in the wool conservative.

Still a well done tl.
About the Tea Party, I think that the Tea Party as an official party wasn't really meant by its supporters to officially seperate from the Republicans, but more to be like John Anderson's 1980 run, not TR's 1912 run.

I think he died. I haven't heard from him for awhile. Should we just declare the TL dead?

This is like declaring Jimmy Hoffa or Jim Morrison legally dead. He could still be out there, but it's not likely.

We might as well do it, then.

Apparently, he was active today and I PMed him. If he doesn't respond in a couple days, or he says that he won't continue, then by all means this should be laid to rest in peace.

So that's our course of action, I guess. Contact me when the time comes.

Shall we notify the next of kin?

If possible, yes. But I have no idea who they are.

Me neither.

Given the previous candidates, I'd go for Daniels because:
He's been a two term Governor (unlike Rubio, Santorum, and Paul)
He's not a closet Liberal (Romney in this one, possibly in real life)
He hasn't been the party nominee before (Pawlenty)
He's not perceived as an idiot (Palin)

By the way, what happened to Mike Pence and Lou Dobbs?

Mike Pence is mulling over a bid for the Governors office.
Lou Dobbs moved to Fox News.

I think I remember seeing an Independent gain on the 2012 Senate map in New Jersey.
