Cry I hope you reconsider...

Cry

But what if they write you in anyways?

I think their vote would be cut off at that point.

I will not be seeking reelection to the Northeast Assembly or accepting write-in votes.

The Northeast Assembly was always supposed to be a citizen legislature.  The time has come for other Northeasterners to serve this great region in the Assembly.

I thank the citizens of the Northeast for their support in the past elections.
This is a shame, your speakership was marvelous.

As a former citizen, and Lt. Governor, I'd just like to add my complements to Cinyc.

He's been here since the Provisional Assembly, and he's always been a great Rep.  He's very good as Speaker, and I hope he's successful in his next venture, whatever that may be. Smiley

Cinyc, you were an excellent Representative and an excellent Speaker. I was always pleased to vote for you, even giving you a higher preference then myself. You've done a great job and never betrayed the trust of those who voted for you.

I'm sad to see you go. You've done a terrific job for this region, and I'm proud to have been able to serve with you. I wish you the best of luck in the future for whatever office you may want to hold.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have no current plans to run for any other office.  I'm going to take this term off and try to spend some time updating tweaking my election night results models using the upcoming Congressional special elections to prepare for November.

I guess I should open my office again, since I've been reelected Northeast Representative.

Statement on the Fix the Regions Amendment Take Two:

I urge all Northeast voters to vote nay on the Fix the Regions Amendment Take Two.  The amendment would reduce the power of the Northeast to veto any changes to its borders in order to fix a problem that does not exist.  The Northeast Region is self-sufficient and does not need to expand or contract.  And the current number of regions is perfect to provide voters a choice to vote with their feet if they are not satisfied with their government.  Dismantling a region or regions is simply unnecessary.  The Northeast should never give up its regional sovereignty to be dictated to by other regions on anything like border adjustments.

With a heavy heart, I have filed a lawsuit, asking the CJO to enjoin the governor from naming Adam Griffin, New_Conservative or SomebodyWhoExists as a winner of the ongoing special election.  All three have registered or re-registered in Atlasia within the past week.  Unfortunately, the Atlasian Constitution requires a candidate be registered for more than a week in order to run for office.

While I have no doubt that Adam Griffin, New_Conservative and SomebodyWhoExists would make a fine Northeast Representative, the Atlasian Constitution is the law of the land and we must follow it, even if it makes little sense.

Due to upcoming real-life commitments, I will not be seeking reelection to the Northeast Assembly in the April election.  The Northeast Assembly will have a new Speaker at the end of the month.
