Mock 2009 German Bundestag Elections
«
on:
September 28, 2009, 11:40:30 am »
To make it a bit more interesting, I chose a quite complicated voting method.
Any of you will give the percentage
they wish
each party had got, no care of being realistic. You should only respect those rules :
- You can give percentages to only 5 different parties. Then, specify the percentages got by
others
, and the percent turnout.
- The only parties that can be selected are CDU/CSU, SPD, FDP, Geens, Die Linke and NPD.
- The first party can't get more than 55% of the vote. The second can't get more than 35%. The third 25%, the fourth 20%, the fifth 17.5%, the others 15%.
- Both the CDU/CSU-FDP and the SDP-Greens coalitions can't get more than 60% or less than 25% of the votes. The parties out of these coalitions can't get more than 40% or less than 5% together.
- The turnout should be comprised between 60% and 80%.
The results will be the average of your scores in exactly two weeks.
Hope you'll be interested.

Sorry, I can't let you give them 40% of the votes or this will get senseless.

Thanks for your vote. Linke+others should however get more than 5%, however. Oh, and you didn't specify turnout.

Green/CDU/FDP coalition (assuming that Green/FDP/SPD actually win exactly 50% of the vote and therefore miss the majority by a single seat or so
)
Chancellor: Renate Künast
Foreign minister/vice chancellor: Guido Westerwelle
The Greens had ruled out a "Jamaica" coalition prior to the election. But in the unexpected event that the Greens win more votes than FDP and CDU together, they could argue that this promise doesn't really apply anymore. They didn't expect that they could win he Chancellorship either.

Attempts to form a FDP/CDU/SPD or a Left/Green/Pirates/SPD coalition fail, leading to early elections.
