Could this map ever happen?

In this map, DC is GOP and Texas is Democrat.

Of course it could, and I've got the answer.

The year is 2016.  Joe Biden is nominated for democratic president and immediately says that the northeast is the worst part of the country and that anyone living west of Texas are racists.  He continues to use this strategy, his campaign slogan is "America must rid itself of the vile north and west".  Mitt Romney also says that the west must fall, but has opposite opinions on the north and south.  Finally, Jesus Christ is resurrected again and runs as an independent claiming that the north and south must be destroyed and that the west is the new promise land.  As you can see this is a very plausible scenario.

Mitt Romney would still win Utah and Idaho.

And Delaware is in the north on that map.

Maybe in a day-after-tomorrow like scenario. Something horrific happens in the west, and it feels as if the two main parties and the current administration aren't doing enough. By default the north and south vote for the Democrat and Republican and the west, feeling completely left out and ignored, votes for the third party.

Not very feasible.

Maybe Teddy's 3rd Party survives? Republicans dominate the North, Democrats the South, and Progressives the West.

… Only if some smartass prankster, at one of the network or cable outlets, gets creative with the color coding of the map (regardless of actual results).

Funny stuff!
