I for one don't. I usually come here to discuss politics, which is one of my interests, but I don't really envision myself in politics to be honest.

Yes. I would make a very electable candidate in many areas, even in CA or MA.

Almost definitely not. I intend to remain politically aware, but there is very little reason to actually get involved in politics unless I am to move somewhere hundreds of miles away from my current locale.

As a political worker (campaign staffer, manager, etc.), yes. As a politician? Most certainly f**king not. I am unelectable.

It's not like I could do anything else.

This is using a broad definition of politics, of course.

I wouldn't mind representing some super safe super liberal district in Congress when I'm in my 50s or 60s.

What about an Alan Grayson district?

No, unless I was rich enough to self fund, I guess. But a swing district like that usually necessitates raising large amounts of money every two years, and I don't want to be a whore like that. Plus, unless I lied about my positions or pandered heavily or pork-barreled the shit out of my constituents, I'd probably always have to run competitive races, which would suck.

I would have said the same thing when I was in college and graduate school. A professional career can easily move you to an entirely different area of the country with equally different politics. You might find ways to get involved that you could not anticipate today.

But why would he?  He can do more good for his cause behind the scenes - otherwise it's just essentially an expensive hobby.

I went looking on Facebook yesterday to see if Muon had a supporters group like some politicians do. I wanted to join, but couldn't find one.

As a teenager I once did. Time is running out, but I still may do something, if the "spirit" moves me forcefully enough. About 15 years ago, I got close, but was off put by the personalities, and was only marginally financially equipped. None of that would  matter now - at least not as much.

What do you mean the "personalities?"  Are you trying to imply that a single person in the public realm, a politician, staffer, media, or interest group could be anything less than genuine, kind, thoughtful, and respectful?  Because, if so, you're a nerd

I don't really care to. I dislike the political class and representative democracy generally - I'd much prefer an Internet-powered direct democracy. If I ran and won, I'd lobby only to make my job obsolete.
