You'd be better than the current ones... (since the current Government splits it into two portfolios - Roads and Ports - Tim Pallas, and Public Transport - Lynne Kosky).

Not based on my current politics no.

Agreed, but would we accept an openly gay politician, especially in such a coveted portfolio? Sure there is a greater acceptance of homosexuality in Australia than there has been in the past, but we, collectively and sadly are a conservative nation, always have and always will, thus making such impossible. But that's beside the point anybody could do a better job than both Pallas and Kosky combined, not to mention the entire Brumby Government. Hell, even Turnbull could.

I have done some volunteer work for some campaigns and wouldn't mind a political job (either staff, campaign, etc) if the $$ was decent.

As far as running for office, very unlikely.  I would need to be able to self fund, I would absolutely hate to have to go around for donations.

Running voter outreach has been a crushingly frustrating job at points, but I'm becoming increasingly interested in voter contact/targeting strategies.  I have no idea.

If I can solve some personal problems before I hit my 30s, then yeah, maybe. Given my abilities and interests, it would be the best way for me to serve my community and my country. I would have to able to self fund because I don't want to do fundraisers and I would want to be an independent. I've been told I have a very good understanding of people, so I could work around the system to get things done.

As a political worker (campaign staffer, manager, etc.), yes. As a politician? Most certainly f**king not. I am unelectable.

You can still run.

But why would he?  He can do more good for his cause behind the scenes - otherwise it's just essentially an expensive hobby.

Why dos this guy run:

Probably because he's high.
