So what will you be looking forward to watching this year?

For me (in order):

1. New Jersey Gubernatorial Race - The race we may all be watching late into the night. You have to admit, it's been pretty amusing too.  I'll be rooting for Mr. Corzine on election night in a fairly detached manner. It should be fun though.

2. NY-23 Congressional Race - Very fascinating special election. I don't really care if the Democrat or the Republican wins as long as the rabid, right-wing knuckle dragger loses.

3. NYC Mayoral Race - I'm expecting the usual the blowout for Bloomberg but I always like watching the results from the five boroughs come in.

4. Maine Question #1 - This looking like it'll be really close. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

5. Virginia Gubernatorial Race - Solid McDonnell victory. It's something else to watch for a while though, I guess.

Honorable Mention: CA-10 Congressional Race, Washington: Referendum 71, Washington Initiative 1033

I haven't really paid much attention to the local stuff this year. I'm not really even living where I'm registered to vote, so yeah. Feel free to list local elections if you want to make your own lists though.

NY-23 is the only one that isn't automatically depressing, so, yeah, that one

1. NJ-Gov: Because it's my state and I have a lot invested in it.

2. NY-23: Interesting to see how much Hoffman gets, though I really don't care who wins.

3. VA-Gov: Always nice to see a solid Republican win.

4. NYC-Mayor: Who gives a sh**t?

New Jersey Governor. I'll be rooting for the forces of good (Corzine) to triumph over the armies of evil (Corzine and the Republicans).

NY Mayor and VA Governor will both be blow-outs, and I pretty much hate all of the candidates in these races at this point anyway.

In NY-23 I'll be rooting for the Conservative Party candidate, for the lulz.

I'll be looking forward to Corzine winning in Jersey, though the race will likely go late into the night.  Looking for a McDonnell victory in VA, though hoping for Deeds.  Hoping for a Dem victory in NY-23 and looking for Bloomberg to run away with it again this year.

Also, Tuesday night, November 3, 2009 will start my official focus on not only the 2010 Mid-Term Elections, but the 2012 Presidential Race.

What about Maine's Question #1, won't that be decided as well on election night? If it is, that's what I'll be most intrested in.

Both Governor races now seem out of hands for the Dems, I really don't care about NY-23, and I'm not expecting Bloomberg to lose anything.

So Question #1 is the only one I think will be intresting. It'll probably be a nailbiter, but I'm confident the Marriage Equality side will manage to get a small win. *Fingers crossed. Let's break a leg*

Ranked by interest:

1-Maine Question #1
2-NY-23
3-NJ Gov
4-Minneapolis mayor (Interested in Rybak's margin of victory even though the race is non-competitive.)
5-VA Gov (maybe Deeds can upset)

NYC is such a non-race I don't care.

Official focus? So have the rest of them been unofficial foci?

Maine Question #1 would be #5 for me, I guess. It could possibly be bumped up to #3 if the VA and NYC races don't tighten up at all.

LOL!, I've got my hands full with Christmas 2009, let alone 3 years from now.

Up till now, I haven't really been paying much attention to either 2010 or 2012, save for a few glances every now and then, but that's about to change.

Only NJ governor isn't a foregone conclusion.

I'll be watching Ref71 and I-1033 locally, plus Maine's Question 1. The only candidate race that will be interesting is NJ's governor race.

1. Maine Question #1 since the topic interests me and Maine is one of the best states.
2. NY-23 because three-way races in the US are a rarity and enjoyable. I'll be rooting for the centrist choice, Dede.
3. NJ-Governor hoping that the centrist choice, Daggett does well. Basically rooting against two ghastly and awful candidates, Corzine and Christie.
4. NYC Mayor for fun
5. Northern Mariana Islands-Governor just for the lulz

NYC Mayoral election would be the main one. Mainly because there have been enough hints at anti-incumbent trends in municipal elections recently (including in the various Democratic primaries in NYC) so a hilarious upset is just about possible.

1. Maine's Question 1
2. Washington's Referendum 71
3. New Jersey Gubernatorial
4. NY-23
5. CA-10
6. Maine's Question 4 & 5 [well, I guess this can go up with Q1 but I care about 2, 3, 4, 5 more]
7. Virginia, NYC + rest all tied, I guess

Yeah, "everything but marriage" domestic partnerships passed by the legislature up for a vote. And opponents have made it "all about marriage".
